The Stanley Parable is an enamouring experience. You are Stanley, you are in control of your own choices. Also, you are a subject of the narrative and are guided in everything you do. You are independent, and you are 🧸controlled. You are also playing a remake.

The Stanley Parable originally began as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a mod for Half-Life 2 (or more specifically, the Source SDK) back in 2011 before being turned into a dedicated game in 2013. You could even view t🌜he Ultra Deluxe edition as another soft remake if you wanted. Stanley has seen a fresh coat of paint plenty of times.

22 Dead Sp🉐ace R🐭emake

Horror With Unrivalled Fidelity

When Dead Space launched on consoles back in 2008, it presented a new vision for horror games. Though it undeniably took heavily from the like of Resident Evil 4, it shifted away from zombies and h𝕴eadshots, relying on more tactful combat choices and dietetic UI. It was, and still is, a marvel.

Why the Dead Space Remake excels in how it chooses to diverge from the original. The Ishimura is a single space station now, and a d🔯egree of randomness has been added. Isaac is voiced now as well to get greater consistency across the who🌌le series. It's not the definitive version per se, but a version you should try even if you loved the original.

21 The B꧃inding Of Isaac 🔜

A Subtle But Definitive Upgrade

The Binding of Isaac is one of the early indie hits, creating a burgeoning industry that would go on to be a major space in the games industry. Lathered in religious symbolism, Isaac does not have an easy go of it. The little guy is trapped in the basementꦿ and has to fight enemies of biblical proportions on the daily.

Except this was not enough for Isaac, and so he was reborn in 2014 with The Binding of Isaac Rebirth. It removed the limitations of Adobe Flash from the original w൩ith plenty of the art remade, new enemies added, extra playable characters and just a bit🅺 more of everything. It's a remake so subtle but expansive that you can't help but admire its seamlessness.

Thankfully, you can still buy the orig♏inal Binding of Isaac as well if you'd prefer a less expansive experience.

Debatably, the most important adventure game of all time is Colossal Cave Adventure. A 1976 text-based romp involving mazes, outside-the-box𒐪 puzzles, and a unique scoring system, the future of the genre would not exist without it. This includes King's Quest by designer Roberta Williams, whose main inspiration was Colossal Cave. Many decades later, Ken and Roberta Williams released a full 3D remake.

It retains the hardcore challenge of the original while modernizing it perfectly in 3D, with even the humorous elements handled pretty well. Sure, the core design of Colossal Cave can turn off many modern players, but this remake achieves exactly what it wants to do. Take this text-based game, recreate it𝐆 entirely in 3D, and it executes it about as flawlessly as you could get. It's the best w✅ay to play this classic nowadays.

19 ಌ ꦓ System Shock

Another Old-School Remake

The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:2023 System Shock is another remake of a PC classic, keeping it as old-school as possible. Even the art style, while modernized, still has a retro aesthetic. It retains all the amazing aspects of the original, including the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:all-time great AI villain Shodan, but be warned that this game plays completely ꦑdi♐fferently than most fair you're used to.

Unless you're playing on the easiest settings, you don't want to 100 percent the entire map here. You're repeatedly punished for backtracking due to the rapid rate of respawning enemies, so you'll want to push forward virtually the entire time. If you're a completionist, just ditch that playstyle. It's more fun to keep moving anyway, as that completionist style can make these type🅰s of games drag at times.

Out of the entire Metroid series, the first two instalments needed remakes the most. While Samus Returns is a pretty good remake of Metroid 2, you just can't top Zero Mission. It turned an aged classic into one of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:best games in the entire series.🎃 ✅The movement feels so good and incredibly smooth to control.

The GBA graphics and art style are top-notch, the bosses deliver in spades, you can take multiple different paths in getting all the upgrades, and it even a🐠dds new story content. Samus's backstory has some new revelations here, making this the perfect starting point in the series. Yes, it's a little short, 🍰but frankly, you won't be complaining.

It's a perfect mix of the more survival stealth horror you'd see in the 2010s and traditional survival horror.

Sometimes you're defenseless, other times not, and the game makes very good use of this to make the tension as high as possible. In terms of raw scare factor, Siren: Blood Curse is the scariest horror game on the PS3, and it sucks that the game only received a digital release in the West. Thank🅘fully, the PS3 is region-free.

One Wii game that desperately 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:needs to come to the Switch is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Punch-Out. If you're new to the series and jump into this game, you'll have n𒊎o idea this is a remake at all. It's not until you go back and play the original NES title that you'll see how much Next Level Games recreated here.

The moves, the awesome animations, and even a lot of the strategies and nuances are brought back in stellar fas𓂃hion. They even improved the gameplay with the Stars system, which has a more risk/reward dynamic. With more content than ever before and improved gameplay, Punch-Out Wii actually surpasses the classic NES original, which is no small feat.

15 Yakuza Kiwaܫmi ಞ

Night And Day To The Original

Going back to the original PS2 Yakuza game is not a great experience. Yakuza 2 actually holds up pretty well, but the original instalment has such poor combat controls that it's honestly a drag to play. Thankfully, Yakuza Kiwami swaps out the original combat system with the one in Yakuza 0, the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:best in the series.

That's a recipe for a great time, and it is. While the story presented is more divisive for series fans, with both positives and negatives, the gam𒆙eplay is leagues better than the original. The modern fighting instalments in the series still can't match the combat here. Kiwami is the definitive way to play Yakuza 1.

The Xen chapters, in particular, are a vast improvement. To highlight how good this remake is, Dario Casali, a level designer of HL1, once played the classic game for a bit, then decided to switch over to Black Mesa and just played that to the end. When an original developer prefers to play the remake, that'✱s the sign of a truly great one.
