There are a lot of things that don’t make sense in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Paper Mario: The Origami King. This is true for the game’s story right alongside the mechanics. For example, how co♏uld a portable game in 2020 not includ♔e an option to save anywhere? For that matter why is there no easy way to fast travel at any time?
Everything is a💞 bit too cumbersome and those two examples are the least of this game’s troubles. From mechanical quirks to story beats that don’t quite hit the rhythm, here are ten mind b💝oggling things about Mario’s latest paper adventure. There are a few spoilers ahead.
10 Why Is Origami A Big Deal?
The very premise of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Paper Mario doesn’t make sense. Mario and the other characte🍒rs may be made out o꧅f 2D paper cutouts but the world they inhabit has 3D paper models in it.
Why then is origami so scary? It goes beyond origami looking scary as a 3D conce🐭pt. There is a spell involved, but still, it is odd.
9 Paper Mario: The Toy Story King
Speaking of the paper aspect, is this just a literal paper version of Mario? That i♌s to say is there a real Mario out there?
Is this some kind of alternate reality, or does it exist within the Mushroom Kingdom? Dialogue in the game suggests these paper characters know full well they are made of paper. There are real🔯 life objects in the game not made of paper too like sentient pencils and water to back this theory up.
8 Mario’s Paper Body
If Mario knows he is made out of pa💜per then there are certain obstacles he should be able to get around.
Going thin and squeezing through cracks is actually a mechanic from past entries. Seeing Mario stand on a grate and not fall through is weird then. That’s just one of ꧂many examples one can find in the game.
7 Why Aren’t Toads Evil?
The literal Origami King doesn’t have much of an army on his own. However, he is able to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom so easily because he turns Bowser’s s𒊎oldiers into origami figures which m🌠akes them obey his commands.
If that is true, even for Peach, then why doesn’t the King use the Toads as well? Instead, h⛎e just folds them into objects Mario can easily find and save.
6 Toads In Battle
Continuing on w꧑ith that idea real quick, one could counter that argument by saying Toads are weak. A Toad army would not last long. That said, one Toad may be weak, but many could prove useful.
Just look at the audience that travels around with Mario. 🥀The more he gets the stronger their support becomes. The real object of this entry is to question why they are always there in battle. Are they really traveling with him?
5 The Switch And Olivia
At the W🅷ater🍰 Vallumetal temple, Olivia says she can’t press the ground switch because she is floating. This means players need to find Bobby before moving on. However, her excuse doesn’t make any sense.
Case and point, whenever Mario rests at a bench O𒁏livia will join him by lowering herself and actually sitting. This𓃲 means she could have totally hit the switch.
4 Smack Your Friends, It’s Okay
Another somewhat related subject to hitting things is Mario’s hammer. In order to free Toads Mario usually has to 💯slam them with said hammer wh🧸ich apparently doesn’t hurt them. However, the hammer hurts opponents in battle.
That in itself is odd, but more so than that, Mario can gleefully hit allies with his army, even Bowser꧒ in the begi𝓡nning, and they won’t say anything.
3 Party Members: Why Bother?
Going back 🐷to the switch again, the reason why Olivia won’t hit it is because the game is telling players they꧟ need Bobby to progress in the game. It is a story conceit and that’s all party members really amount to.
They will sometim𒈔es join Mario in battle and or on his journey but also hang back. This picture pretty much sums up their implementation. Using them in this way often feels like excessive padding, slowing the game down to a halt at times.
2 Songs With Lyrics Without Lyrics
There are multiple dance numbers in the game which was both a genuine shock and delight to see. While seeing a bunch of trees swinging in the breeze while Mario bops along is cool, it also feels cheap.
That is to say these dance routines are often accompanied by lyrics. Lyrics, but no spoken words. It’s about as odd as the voiceless cutscenes were in Pokémon Sword/Shield. Come on Nintendo, use that money for voice talent like in Super Mario Odyssey.
1 Luigi’s Bumbling Adventures
Luigi is by no means a weak character. Just look at what he can accomplish in his own series, Luigi’s Mansion, along with the other RPG series, Mario and Luigi. So why then doe⛦s Oli🎃via treat him like he is worthless?
He is getting through most of the game by himself. If he is really that incompetent then ꦚhow is he doing it alone?
