Each of them has their special safe zone and carries a variety of goods, though they each tend to specialize in carrying more of a certain item category. They don't have permanent stocks either, and they'll rotate items they offer every few in-game days.
You can find quite a few lootables in each of their zones, and they restock a🐷t the same time as any other items in the world, depending on your se🥂ttings.
No matter which Trader you're at, their shops always open at 4 AM and close by 9:50 PM or 21:50 on the in-game clock, and if you're within the bounds when they close, you'll be kicked out.
Trader Rekt
Trader Rekt is generally the first Trader you'll come across, as he also serves as the introduction to trading and one of the starting missions will direct you to his location in the Forest biome.
- If you start at the residential area containing the McMillain and Goldsmith Residences along the northernmost road in the Forest, take the paved road to the south until you reach another four-way intersection.
- Follow the dirt road towards the east until you find Rekt's safe zone along the road.
You'll find various early-game and lower-tier items for sale from him, and he will carry more seeds and food items than the other four traders. His missions are always in the Forest region, and he also gives you your first Shovel during the job tutorial quest.
Trader Jen
Trader Jen's usually the second trader you'll come across, as the Burnt Forest is the next easiest biome to deal with after the Fores𒊎t, and pretty close by to it as well.
Jen carries a lot of general goods and, fitting with there being several medical tents with lootables in the zone, she'll carry medical supplies like Aloe Cream more often and in greater numbers than the other traders.
She also offers the same three job types, but hers will always lead you to places and locations within the Burnt Forest.
Jen's one of the best traders to go ahead and find in the early game since she carries lots of Aloe Creams, which you'll♔ need to make First Aid Bandages.
Using the residential area in the upper center of the Forest biome, where both the McMillan and Goldsmith Residences are, as your starting point, there are two fairly easy routes you can take to reach Jen.
Route One:
- Take the southern road from the four-way intersection, and follow it until you reach the Burnt Forest biome.
- Continue down that paved road until you can head to the right and take that wider road east to the town area with Navezgane Creamery.
- Head south at the four-way interaction and follow it until you reach a split in the path.
- Take the left pathway going up the mountain, and you'll find Jen's safe zone in a parking lot next to the one green area within the Burnt Forest.
Route Two:
- From the same starting point, head east along the paved road and follow it until you reach another four-way intersection with a single, large building.
- Take the southern road down into the Burnt Forest until you reach the town area with Navezgane Creamery.
- Continue south down the road until you reach a split in the path, then follow the path left and up around to where Jen is located.
Trader Bob
Trader Bob is usually the third trader you'll come across, and he's not too far away from Jen, though he sits in the third most dangerous area, the Desert.
Bob's got a focus on different tools, and you'll generally also find some tool-related mods in his shop, along with materials needed for vehicles like Mecꦚhanical Parts or Electrical Parts and more paint than the other traders.
While Trader Bob's area is still a safe zone, it registers as one orange skull difficulty because Zombie Vultures can still trac♕k you overhead and very rarely attack.
Using the same starting point, it's easy to begin at the four-way intersection next to the McMillan and Goldsmith Residences in the Forest and take the safer route through the Burnt Forest.
- Head east down the paved road, and follow it until you reach another four-way interaction with a large building on the right.
- Next, head south and keep along that path until you reach the Burnt Forest and eventually pass the Navezgane Creamery.
- Keep going south, passing by the ridge where Trader Jen is, and keep going until you reach the desert area.
- Pass by the Pop-N-Pills store at the side of the road and go southeast when the road splits in two directions, then follow it until you reach Bob's safe zone on the right.
If you've already found Trader Jen, you can also start your trip at her safe zone, as she's almost directly north of him.
His jobs are mostly going to bring you into the desert, but on rare occasions, they'll send you to locations close to the Wasteland biome, and they'll end up being more difficult than usual thanks to this.
Trader Hugh
Trader Hugh's is the third or fourth Trader you find, depending on which biome you prefer to go to first, and it's worth it to search for him if you're using guns.
He sells all sorts of ammo types, including higher-tier variants like HiPower ammo, as well as weapon parts and mods and some of the same general items like food, water, and different magazines.
Besides zombies, you'll want to watch out for any wolves, bears, or cougars roaming the area, as they attack quickly and can shred through even heaꩵvy armor quickly.
From the same starting point as the others, being the residential area with McMillan Residence in the upper center area of the Forest:
- Go past the houses and head north across the bridge from the four-way intersection and into the Snowy Forest biome.
- Pass through the small residential area here, then take the dirt path up and around to the northwest and follow it until you reach a paved main road in the north.
- Head west on that paved road until you see a massive wooden wall and several broken-down cars along the road, and you've reached Trader Hugh.
Trader Joel
Despite being one of the easier traders to get to as far as direct routes, Trader Joel is one of the two most difficult traders to reach, alongside Hugh, due to the difficulty of the Wasteland biome.
Trader Joel specializes in carrying higher-tier armor pieces and different armor mods alongside the usual items and his missions will all lead you to locations within the Wastelands biome.
Make sure you've got at least one weapon with the Rad Remover mod on it to help with killing the frequent radiated zombies you'll encounter before yo♍u find Joel.
Starting at the same point as the other traders for a general route – the residential area with the McMillan and Goldsmith Residences in the Forest – you'll have a pretty direct route to Joel.
- From that four-way intersection, head south down the paved road until you pass through the Burnt Forest and go into the Wasteland.
- Carefully go south through to the other end of the city area, then veer off onto the dirt path that starts going southwest.
- Follow the dirt path down and around the hills until you see Joel's safe zone near the river and bridge in the west.
You can find several small and medium lootable ammo piles along the different watchtowers, as well as some broken crafting stations at the bottom of the building.
