US Customs and Border Protection seized over 86,000 fake Pokémon figures that were imported from Hong Kong.
We’re not sure if these tiny figurines would have fooled a real 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon fan, but that’s probably not the point. The point is to fool parents of young kids who just want to play with little Pokémon toys. Kids would know the difference.
And as it turns out, the US Customs and Border Protection Office also knew the difference between a counterfeit Pokémon and the real McCoy. Does this mean there are some Pokémon fans working for Uncle Sam? Statistically speaki♒ng, almost certainly.
US Border officials seized a whopping 86,400 figurines in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on Wednesday after inspecting a parcel from Hong Kong that was labeled “plastic furnishing articles.” After opening up the 15 boxes, they found they were filled with plastic Pokémon figures that looked just a little bit off.
After consulting wi✅th Nintendo, they confirmed that these figures were knock-offs and not official products. If they were real, they would have sold for about $604,000. Instead, they’re now being held as evidence awaiting likely destruction.
