The 88-year-old grandma Audrey, who's been playing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Animal Crossing: New Leaf on her Nintendo 3DS for four years straight with more than 3,500 hours of playtime, received a new Animal Crossing edition of the Nintendo Switch, crowdfunded by her fans. She can now play 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Animal Crossing: New Horizons as well - but she says she really can'🦩t abandon her flowers in the older game, so she'll ඣjust have to play both.
Back in January 2019, indie game developer Paul Hubans tweeted that his grandmother Audrey's 3DS broke, and after getting her a new one for Christmas, he did a system transfer. When he checked her log, he found 3,580 hours of playtime for New Leaf; Audrey had played the game almost every single day from Christmas 2014 until New Year's Eve 2018. 💮The tweet quickly went viral, so he later uploaded a video (now with more than 11 m𝓀illion views) of his grandma talking about the game.
Interestingly, her name in New Leaf was Audie - and New Horizons has a villager called Audie: a wolf with bright red fur and yellow eyeshadow. It has not been explicitly confirmed that villager🅰 Audie was based on grandma Audrey, but fans take it as a given at this point. Apparently, she was amused by their choice to make her a wolf. Hubans believes that it could be a fairy tale reference to Little Red Riding Hood, where the grandmother turns out to be a wolf.
And now grandma Audrey joins the masses of gamers playing New Horizons as well.
A GoFundMe event by Hubans called "Let's get Gran the Animal Crossing Switch!" quickly raised the necessary $500, so he uploaded an unboxing video in which she finally lays her hands on the new console☂ (as well as two new keychains, including one with her favorite villageඣr, Filbert). In the video, she says it looks "interesting," adding that, "The graphics are good… These look more like people than the other ones did, more animal-like."
But grandma Audrey remains loyal to New Leaf as well; She doesn't want to give up on her flowers or leave her villagers, so she says she'll "🌸take time" to play both of them. In the meantime, we'll be patiently waiting for a full game review for grandma, because right now, that's the only one that matters.
