Starcolt’s combination dog petting simulator and dating sim Best Friend Forever has been delayed due ✤to COVID-19, to the heartbreak of many a gamer missing the tender touch of a lover or the innoc🦄ent joy of a puppy’s adoration.
is an escapist fantasy along the lines of Stardew Valley, ཧwhereby the player starts a bra𒀰nd-new life in Rainbow Bay, a town where adorable dogs and local singles abound. Players can adopt a multitude of dogs to train, care for, and lavish with affection as they make moves on Rainbow Bay’s eligible beaus.
One of the game’s charm point🌟s is that the dogs aren’t just accessories; they follow the p🌱layer and even interact with you and the narrative as the game progresses. Your best friend really is your best friend, and it's up to you to take care of them! Very little information has been released about the hot singles players can romance on the game’s Steam page, but Best Friend Forever’s official website has an entire tab dedicated to showing off the romanceable cast.
Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait to enjoy this fluffy, feel-good game. Starcolt’s team is based in New Zealand, and working from home during COVID-19 has made releasing the game by May 14th a long shot.
Lucky for us, the new release date is only about a month off: Best Friend Forever hits Steam June 18th.
