It seems like that hot streak might already be coming to an end, though. Just a few weeks ago, the atrocious Borderlands movie absolutely bombed critically and com🦹mercially, proving that movies based on games that no one asked for are a bad idea. That looks like a lesson that Warner Bros. live-action Minecraft movie is g𝓰oing to have to learn all over again.

The First Minecraft Movie Trailer Already Has Over 1 Million Dislikes

The Minecraft movie reveal trailer with over one million dislikes.

Just a few days ago, Warner Bros. released the first teaser trailer for the long-in-dev⛄elopment live-action Minecraft movie (no one is calling it A Minecraft Movie, come on), which gave us a first proper look at wh🦩at appears to be another Isekai story. Although the attitude towards gaming mov༒ies has improved over the lastও few years, the reaction was instantly negative.

There are a lot of things that fans weren't happy about, from Jack Black playing the same character he always does to the weird "hire this guy" visuals that we actually got a terrifyꦗing glimpse of thanks to a leak earlier in the year. Fans also took issue with the movie's plot seemingly just being Jumanji but with a terrifyingly realistic Minecra🍃ft skin.

All of those problems and more have resulted🍃 in the first trailer for the Minecraft movie , which is pretty staggering in just three days. It's a pretty clear ratio too, as the trailer only has 578,000 likes as of the time of writing, suggesting that most fans aren't happy with it.

The first trailer for the Minecraft movie c🎃urrently has 27 million views, so it's at least drawin🔯g a lot of rolling eyes.

The comments section underneath the trailer is similarly brutal, with fans point🍃ing out all of the things that they hate about the trailer and wonder♕ing if they can complain enough that Warner Bros. changes it like Paramount did with Sonic. Some fans are even taking the chance to apologise to Minecraft: Story Mode, which is something I never thought I'd see.
