What started as an impressive AA game from a European studio has since grown into a series worthy of a Game of the Year nomination. The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Plague Tale games have proven a hit with both fans and critics, citing the charact🌞erization of Amicia and her relationship with her little br💎other, Hugo, as the flaming torch that carries both games.

Being directly related to each other, the games are very similar with Requiem off♐ering an evolution of the mechanics established in Innocence. Think of the two games as one part of a large journey - the part you favor𒁏 will largely be a personal choice.

10 Innocence - More Grounded Sto🤡ry

A Plague Tale Innocence Shot Of Main Characters Walking Together

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:A Plague Tale: Innocence is much more reserved with the Macula than🔯 its successor. While the game ends with Hugo becoming a supernatural rat king of sorts, the majority of the runtime is spent avoiding the rats and treating them as a souped-up version of the Black Plague.

Requiem thr꧙ows that out of the window for a much more grandiose interpretation of the plague, which leads to a much more confusing plot at times. Innocence is significantly easier to follow due to the plot beats having more restraint.

9 Reꦏquiem - Betteꦗr Character Performances

Innocence has good performances and voice acting all around, but Requiem takes it to a completely new level. Charlotte McBurney b🃏rings her absolute best to voicing Amicia de Rune and carries the entire game from start to finish.

Likewise, many of the other characters have great performances that help connect you to their struggle. You can sense the conflict, the pain, and the struggle that they deal with. All these characters want to do is live a normal life 🌃away from soldiers, rats, and despair. The performances he🎶lp you feel that on a much more raw level than the first game.

8 Innocenꦚce - Better Technical Performance

When Requiem came out, it was bogged down with a host of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:performance issues. The console versions were lo💎cked to 30 fps and even high-end PCs had trouble maintaining a steady frame rate 🏅throughout.

Innocence didn't have a lot of these problems. On the contrary, its performance was impressive when it came out. The game can have hundreds of rats on screen at any given time, and the developers used amazing tricks to keep the load as light as possible. Next-gen console versions run at a locked 60 fps and mid-range PCs should have no trouble getting the smoothest experience possible.

7 Req🌄uiem - More Options 🐬In Combat

A Plague Tale Requiem combat

Requiem brings a lot of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:elements in Innocence and expands them. Perhaps the area where this is most relevant is thꦜe combat.

Amicia has several different🔥 approaches she can take to the encounters. She can sneak past all the guards and ne🍎ver fire a single shot. She can go in with her sling and crossbow to mow down all her foes. Or, she can be tricky and use the environment to her advantage, crafting tools, setting traps, and more. The more options mean that you can progress through the game how you want - and you are rewarded regardless of how you play.

6 Innocence - Happier Ending ♑ ༒

This may be a negative depending on the type of player you are, but most will find the ending to Innocence happier and more hopeful than the ending in Requiem. After the leader of the Inquisition is defeated, Amicia, Hugo, Beatrice, and Lucas all stick together to live a life of pea🐟ce.

It's unclear if Hugo is still affected by the Macula, so the developers easily could've ended the series here. The game isn't nearly as bleak as its sequel. Some have a hard time stomaching more tragic games, and that's why Innocence is better in this aspect to many.

5 🌃Requiem - Larger Levels ꦇ

While Requiem had its fair share of performance issues, it's not hard to see why optimization was so difficult. The levels in the sequel are much larger than the first game. There are many times when you'll find yourself just staring at the scenery in awe of how grand the developers made many of these locations.

What's more impressive is that many of these views aren't just window-dressing; you'll actually visit many of the landscapes that you see. These levels feel on par with a AAA game and must be commended.

4 Innocence - Less Collectibles ☂ ✤

The collectibles in the Plague Tale games are entirely optional. Only those who want to get all the achievements will have the desire to find them all. Innocence has the flowers for Hugo, the souvenirs for the oth♔er children, the alchemist carts, and the curiosities.

Backtracking to find these items isn't a ton of fun because there are 55 collectibles in total. That said, with a proper guide or the hints on PS5, it won't take you too long. The same can't be said for Requiem, which nearly doubles the collectible amount to 104. Finding everything can be daunting for those who missed stuff on the first time through.

3 🐭 Requiem - New 🅘Game Plus

One of the struggles when going for all the achievements in Innocence was that you were required to fully upgrade all of Amicia's gear. With a limited placement of tools and pieces, that was hard to do on a first playthrough without help. If you didn't get all the upgrades, you had to nearly replay the entire game and find all the crafting items to get it done.

Thankfully, Requiem added a new game plus to make upgrading your gear much easier. Because there's a secret armor in the game, you're also encouraged to play through once more.

2 💮 Innocence - Better Pacing

While Requiem takes Innocence up a few notches, it's also living proof that bigger isn't always better. The game is significantly longer, with chapters that can last hours. This leads to many sections that drag and feel as if they go on longer than they need to.

This isn't a problem in Innocence. It's a much shorter game with more brief levels. It ends exactly where it feels like it needs to and doesn't put the plot on pause by dangling the carrot farther and farther away.

1 Requiem - Exciting Set Pie▨ces

There were a lot of comparisons between Innocence and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Last of Us. If that's the case, then Requiem is closer to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Uncharted at times. There are significantly more 🍬set pieces in the sequel that are much tenser.

You'll be running across rooftops while rats pour in through the city. You'll be controlling a crossbow on a boat while soldiers try to shoot you down. There are many grand moments in Requiem that help break up the slower-paced sections.
