This episode sees the introduction of a very important person, the return of some fan favourites (and Wendy Oldbag, who may be nobody's favourite), and plenty of puzzles and cross-examinations to♐ ace. Below, you'll find our totally spoiler-free walkthrough for the episode.
Investigation: Isolation Room
After the rather shocking introducti꧅on, you'll begin this episode by meeting Kay Faraday, who will be a very important character throughout the Investigations duology. Talk to her about her being a Great Thief and the Yatagarasu and you'll be able to start your investigation, namely into how to escape.
Begin by examining the following:
- The phone on the floor.
- The beam Edgeworth was tied to.
- The Blue Badger Photo Rally sign.
- The Blue Badger costume head.
- The lockers on the left.
- The costume boxes. When prompted, examine all four faces, the different members of the Blue Badger family. Also examine the key on the left.
Talk to Kay about the kidnapping, and she'll move. Examine the door to look through the slot and examine the open floor panel on the ground in the other room.
With that done, we can finally start using the clues with logic!

This will🎀 officially complete the first investigation, but there's more to do before we get to the next one.
Through the next cutscenes, you'll reunite with Gumshoe and meet Agent Lang and his assistant, Shih-na. Once the scenes are over and you regain control over Edgeworth, talk to Kay and Gumshoe about every dialogue option you have. This will introduce you to Mr. Amano, who you should also talk to until you're out of options.
Investigation: Wild West Area
Begin this investigation by chatting to the person in the Blue Badger costume to the right. Speak to him about everything, and when prompted to show a piece of evidence that contradicts his statement, present the Badger Photo Rally.
With this done, examine the following:
- The tire tracks to the right of the area.
- The footprints to the left of the area.
With the clue from the footprints, make the following connections:

Examine the footprints again, which will lead you to the garage door on the right. Examine it to continue, and then examine the wound and the pendant on the screen you're presented with.
Afterwards, use Edgeworth's Deduction ability on the victim's necklace and use the Preliminary Findings as evidence of a contradiction.
This contradictio🦋n will end the investigation and lead right into the first cross-examination of thꦅe episode.
Cross-Examination: Shi-Long Lang's Logic
- Press the fourth statement: "Not unless you're a member of law enforcement like Officer Meekins, isn't that right?"
- Present the Preliminary Findings at the new statement: "Officer Meekins ambushed the victim in this garage and killed him here with his gun!"
Cross-Examination: Meekins's Testimony
- Present the Blue Badgermobile at the third statement: "I also went looking for the kidnappers while selling dreams in the Blue Badgermobile, sir!"
This testimony ♒concludes the very first sectioꩵn of the episode.
After the break, you'll be at the Stadium - talk to Ema about her two dialogue choices and then examine the Pink Badgermobile nearby to ♋meet 🐎the next character you'll need to interrogate.
After talking to Oldbag about the th🃏ings she witnessed, you'll head straight into a formal cross-examination.
Cross-Examination: What Oldbag Witnessed & Investigation: Stadium
- Press the first three statements.
This will lead directly to an investigation that takes place during the cross-examination.
There are only a few steps to take here. Examine the body on the ground and present Mr. Deacon's Murder Notes to show what's missing. This will allow you to 💝⛎make a deduction.

+ |
Why is there no blood? |
With that done, head over to Ema and talk to her about footprint analysis. The ensuing scene will lead us back to Oldbag's testimony:
- Present the Victim's Costume at the second statement: "As I was resting, I happened to glance over and I saw two men facing each other in that area."
This will take you back to the investigation using Kay's device. Walk over to the left and examine the stage to get another clue, and then make a final deduction:

When you regain control, examine the killer's body in the middle of the stage to complete this investigation/cr༺oss-examination hybrid. Lang wi꧙ll turn up to pressure you again.
Cross-Examination: Agent Lang's Logic
- Present Mr. Deacon's Murder Notes at the third statement: "And when the victim finally showed, he shot him from on high!"
- State that the mistaken parameter was both individuals' locations.
Cross-Examination: Another Bit Of Proof
- Present the Blue Badgermobile at the second statement: "The three marks are indicative of the Blue Badgermobile."
- Present the tires on the Blue Badgermobile.
After the scenes and the quick break, you'll be back in the Wild West Area with Amano. Talk to him about every option, and then talk to Lauren Paups next to him about her dialogue options.
When prompted to choose a place to investigate, pick the Kidnappers' Hideout and then speak to the officer in blue to the left to proceed.
Investigation: Kidnappers' Hideout
This is the penultimate investigation of the case, so there's a few things to uncov🐎er here.
Examine the following:
- The door to the right, and then the door handle and the broken sword on the ground.
- The trapdoor.
- The bin full of costumes.
- The table to the left, and then the cups and the folding chairs.
- The broken mirror.
- The door to the left.
Once🐓 you've gathered all the clues, it's time for some good old-fashioned logic.

Speak to the Proto Badger who will now appear, and then present the Pink Badger costume that's still in it⛄s box when prompted. Make a final logic connection to procee🤪d:

When examining the costume, take a closer look at the torn open hand and its main body, before Deducing the right hand with the Blue Badger Bible to make the connection.
With this, the chapter ends. Before you can enter the final stretch, though, you'll be prompted to examine yet another badger costume - examine the necklace to continue.
Cross-Examination: Ms. Paups's Confession
- Press the fifth statement: "...Mr. Deacon turned on me, and tried to kill me!"
- Raise an objection when prompted.
- To prove that Mr. Deacon couldn't kill Lauren, present Ms. Paups's Pendant. Then, present Mr. Deacon's Pendant.
- To give meaning to the pendant, present the Colin Devorae Dossier and highlight the words 'sole daughter'.
Cross-Examination: Another Possibility
- Present the Stolen Costumes at the fourth statement: "And the two of them made good use of their meetings to plan this little kidnapping."
- When asked to point out who the brains behind the kidnapping is, present Lance Amano's profile.
Cross-Examination: Lance's Testimony
- Press the fifth statement: "I made my escape and ran away from that room as fast as I could."
- Present the Broken Prop Sword at the new statement: "The door leading outside was locked tight, so I had to use the underground passageway."
- To prove motive, present the Love Letter.
Cross-Examination: Chain Of Events
- Press the third statement: "But that Badger pointed his gun at me, aiming to shoot me dead!"
- Present the Colin Devorae Dossier at the new statement: "But that Badger pointed the gun in his left hand at me, aiming to shoot me dead!"
- State that both pieces of information are correct.
- As proof that the killer could use either hand, present the Bad Badger's Head.
- Present the Proto Badger when prompted to choose between the four costumes.
- To show how Lance made sure he wouldn't be shot, present the Missing Model Gun.
Cross-Examination: What Ms. Paups Saw
- Press the third statement: "He had tied Mr. Deacon securely to the beam in the room next door."
- Press the new statement: "The captive had a Bad Badger's head on, so I'm absolutely sure it was Mr. Deacon."
- Raise an objection.
- To prove it wasn't the victim, present the Bad Badger's Head.
- State that Paups saw Edgeworth.
Amano will show up with some new evidence. When prompted, examine the glass in the head, the bullet hole, and the gun.
Cross-Examination: Decisive Evidence
- Press the first statement: "Make no mistake. There are fingerprints on that murderous gun."
- Raise an objection.
- State that the prints shouldn't be there by presenting the Stolen Costumes.
- To prove the murder didn't take place at the Stadium, present the Victim's Costume and point out the bullet hole.
- State that the murder took place in the Haunted House.
- Present the Mirror Fragments as evidence.
This will end this very long striꦆng of cross-examinations and end up revealing some new information. This will lead you to the final stage of the case, a long investigation.
Investigation: Haunted House Recreation
Before this investigation officially starts, you'll be prompted to help recreate the scene. When asked to point out where Edgeworth's assailant was hiding, present the circled 'B'.
When given control, examine the mirror, and then Bad Badger costume standing with a long weapon. When asked to suggest a weapon, present the Broken Prop Sword and test it with Luminol.
When the scene updates, Deduce the sword and present the Broken Prop Sword to find a contradiction. This would contradict the Missing Model Gun.
After learning about the disappearing badger trick, head to the end of the hallway and examine the seated Blue Badger costume. Examine the costume closely, and then Deduce it, presenting the Blue Badger Bible as evidence of a contradiction.
Now, go into logic mode:

When asked to suggest why they built a mirror-wall, present the Gatewater Land Pamphlet and state that the trick is carried out by moving the mirror-wall. Then, suggest that the empty corridor behind the mirror-wall was where the killer hid.
When asked to point out the next contradiction, present the end of the empty hallway - there's a missing Badger! Suggest that the real identity of the mystery Badger was Colin Devorae by presenting the Victim's Costume.
This ends the episode.
