Act💝ivision Blizzard has been fined €5000 for failinꦏg to disclose the presence of loot boxes to the PEGI rating agency in Diablo Immortal. Hunt: Showdown publisher Plaion was fined the same amount for the same reason.

The PEGI Complaints Board and Enforcement Committee regarding a number of cases brought forward. Topping the list was both 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Diablo Immortal and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Hunt: Showdown Bounty Hunter - Limited Editiಌon, which both contain loot boxes (or loot box-like elements) but don't say so on their ratings.

"Both ♈games were published in 2022 and although they 𓄧contain paid random items (like loot boxes or card packs), this was not disclosed to PEGI when the games were submitted for a rating license," the rating agency wrote. "Since this amounts to a violation of the rules described in the PEGI Code of Conduct, the PEGI Enforcement Committee sanctioned both companies with a fine of €5000."

In addition to the small fines💫, both companies have been told to update theꦐir relevant store listings and marketing materials to reflect the presence of in-game loot boxes.

Diablo Immortal rather famously launched with a particularly predatory monetization scheme that included the aforementioned loot box mechanics. In fact, one player calculated that it would require $100,000 USD to fully upgrade a single💯 Diablo Immortal character. This perhaps helped explains why Diablo Immortal was estimated to have made Activision Bliz😼zard .

It also makes PEGI's paltry €5000 an ineffective enforcement mechanism as it represents less than a single percent of Activision Blizzard's daily revenue from Diablo Immortal. Frankly, at that price, it might not have even been worth Blizzard's time to assemble the required documentation to comply with PEGI's rules.

As far as we know, Diablo 4 will not have loot box-style mechanics in its monetization. Instead, the title will have 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a battle pas✃s and seasonal content drops encouraging playeꦰrs to pay for the premium pass in order to unlock more content. There will also be an in-game storefront where players can purchase cosmetic items for specific classes, although the battle pass cosmetics will be unlockable for every cl📖ass.

Elsewhere in PEGI's report, Stardew Valley saw its rating updated from PEGI 7 to PEGI 12. The rating agency noted that the initial documentation for Stardew failed to disclose the presence of a casino, complete with blackjack and slot machines. The presence of these gambling games--even though they're not tied to any real-world money--meant that children 12 and over are recommended to play one of the world's most wholesome farming games.
