The first two Advance Wars games are getting a facelift for a Nintendo Switch release. Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp gives the COs a cartoony makeover and the soldiers a less pixelated, almost toy-like look. The content looks to be a faithful recreation of the Game Boy Advance games without too much reimagining or new content, if any. Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is available for pre-order now with a December 3 release date.

The trailer features the cast of the O🍎range Star nation doing dramatic anime poses while the soldier units are seen traversing the map and engaging in combat. This all looks perfectly in step with the original games, although environments are given an upgrade - troops now actually stand in knee-deep water or look down from a cliff as they shoot at lower enemies.

One interesting comment from the trailer is that Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is "Reimagined and rebuilt from the groun♏d up." This implies that the maps, and even story, could change. The cast of Advance Wars 2 goes unseen, so perhaps the sequel makes some big changes.

Adva𝔍nce Wars was one of the more unexpected announcementsꦍ from Nintendo Direct E3 2021, and its revival might just give hope to F-Zero and Punch Out fans.
