The Adventure Guild, creators of the Quest tabletop roleplaying game, their next two Kickstarter adventu🦂res on the game’s official blog. The first Kickstarter is currently scheduled to launch on February 1, 2021, and will consist of not one, not two, not three, but four brand new products to support the . The second Kickstarter is scheduled to launch later in 2021, and will feature Quest RPG’s first major expansion, the Cosmic Fa🍨ntasy Edition.
The four new Quest RPG products to be funded in the upcoming Kickstarter are two new sourcebooks and two new companion card decks. The two new books include the Quest Character Catalog, which will be expanded from its current 22 characters up to 100 ch𝓡aracters, all in full color and illustrated by artist Grim Wilkins. The second book😼, the Treasure Catalog, is having its contents doubled to include 100 brand new items, illustrated by Marianna Learmonth.
According to the official announcement, each book will be 6” x 9” hardcover, and will come with “a companion card deck with tarot-sized cards” for each creature and item, respectively. Additionally, digital items of each product (books and cards) will be made, and will be included free with each physical produc🌞t.
The Quest: Cosmic Fantasy Edition Kickstarter will bring sci-fi and space fantasy to the Quest RPG, and will feature “seven exciting new roles, new role-neutral abilities, and a starship catalog.” This edition will use the same basic ruleset as Quest, with the addition of a few new rules “to drive storytelling in a galactic🌳 setting, including a starship system that allows you to modify your ship and use it like an extension of your role’s special abilities.” However, you won’t need a copy of the origina🎀l Quest RPG to play the new Cosmic Fantasy Edition, as it will be designed as a stand-alone product.
The Adventure Guild also noted it will be doing these upcoming Kickstarters differently than it’s . They will not have any stretch goals (“to concentrate on making the best characters and treasures out there”), products are being 🌱designed in advance to have products “available in 3–4 months after the project funds, instead of 1+ years”, and there will be a “new reward fulfillment process” involving an immediate-use unique store code for backers.
