With many bosses available for you to fight in Afterimage, there are bound to be many challengܫing ones and some that may be slightly underwhelming. Loss, the Galefeather, fortunately, falls under the former category, offering a unique and exhilarating encounter that will have you using e𓆉verything at your disposal to survive.
Loss, The Galefeather Overview
Loss, the Galefeather is a boss in Afterimage that offers excellent rewards, despಞite what he drops upon defeat.
You can reach Loss, the Galefeather, by going to Emerald Falls. This zone is just past the Field of Geo area, whiꦛch you will naturally stumble upon as you progress through the story and explore each location.
Once you arrive at Emerald Falls, rest at the first Confluence in the zone, found east of the area's entrance. From there, you want to navigate up the screen. Follow this path all the way up until you can't any longer, then head east until you reach the boss arena.
This encounter can be tricky, but you will receive a decent amount of EXP for defeating Loss and will also get a Talent Point. However, the biggest reward is finding a Blacksmith and the Left-wing Feather of Windwalker Afterimage at the bottom of the area to the right of the arena.
The Blacksmith will head to Resting Town as a merchant you can purchase Weapons and Armor from, while the Left-wing Feather of Windwalker Afterimage will grant you the ability to double-jump.
So, while their drop list may seemꦗ light, there is much more to find in the area just past them, so be sure to drop down to the right of their arena to gather your new ability and talk to your n𒐪ew friend!

Loss, The Galefeather Boss Fight Guide
Now that you have the complete rundown of Loss, the Galefeather, let's go over how you can beat him in combat to get your hands on that excellent double-jump Afterimage that will dramatically change your movemen✱t 💃for the better.
He has access to seven attacks, all of which will hit extremely hard, so ensure you have plenty of Healing Items on hand before a🅠ttempting this fight. as it will allow you to stay in the battle longer.
Overall, this encounter isn't too grueling. You will just have to constantly be on the move and look out for his more overpowered attacks that can shave off large chunks of your HP. However, once you know how to deal with them, you will breeze r☂ight through ꦿthem!
Triple Slashes
One of Loss' most common attacks is his Triple Slashes, which has him perform three strikes in quick succession with his Lance, cov🍎ering a vast area in front and aro𓄧und himself with each slash.
This move is telegraphed by Loss pointing their Lance downward at an angle briefly before he swiftly swings it upward in an arc-like motion. After that, he will perform another slash. This time it will be a wide swing that travels in front of him and extends all the way behind him.
Then, he will finish the attack off by plunging his Lance forward with tremendous force and speed. As soon as you see him point his Lance downward, begin backdashing to evade the first swing, then start backdashing again to dodge the second one.
After this, you will have to jump and dash backward to avoid his plunging attack, or you can pass underneath him to get behind him. We prefer the latter method, which allows you to land several hits of your own before backing off to prepare for his other attacks.
Linear Gale Discs
Next up is another common attack of Loss', his Linear Gale Discs, which has him fire off several disc-like projectiles of wind that travel in a straight line horizontally across the screen.
These projectiles are launched high in the air, so you can just walk beneath them and avoid them fine. Take this opportunity to run up to Loss and land several uncontested hits of your own before creating space to prepare for what's next.
Sporadic Gale Discs
Another variant of his projectile-based attack is his Sporadic Gale Discs, which has him stack several Gale Discs vertically before launching them forward at slightly different angles.
Like the last one, these aren't quite low enough to hit you on the ground, so you can avoid them by simply walking underneath them. Get close to Loss, then unleash several attacks before retreating to set up for defense.
Position Reset
If Loss is out of position for one of his attacks, he will fly away, disappearing into the sky before suddenly reappearing in the middle of the arena. This won't deal any damage to you unless you run into him, so maintain your position until he comes back into the arena.
He will often use this before using his Triple Slashes or Galefeather Tuft attack, but he can also do just about any of his other attacks, so be prepared for anything after he flies away.
Galefeather Tuft
Loss will periodically launch several Gold Feathers into the ground at great speed and at a slight angle in front ofඣ himself, stack⛎ing several on top of one another.
This move is odd, as you can simply run behind him as soon as you see him jump into the air, and he will continue his attack while facing the complete opposite direction. These Galefeathers won't explode or anything, so feel free to land several airborne attacks on him.
Galefeather Barrage
Unlike the previous Galefeather attack of Loss', this one is much harder to evade as he launches many Galefeathers from his wings, littering the ground and walls with Gold Feathers.
Like the last attack, however, these Galefeathers won't explode or deal damage after they hit the ground, so you can stand in a safe area and evade damage altogether.
However, if you have the HP to spare, you can take a hit of one of the Galefeathers and use your Invincibility Frames to land several attacks on Loss if you don't just stand in an area where the Galefeathers aren't landing and wait out the attack.
Ride The Wind
Lastly, we have his Ride the Wind attack, which has him quickly Dash across the screen with his Lance pointed outward in front of him, turning himself into a speeding projectile and dealing massive damage on contact.
This move is telegraphed by Loss holding his Lance out in front of himself and channeling the wind. You will see wind start to gather at the opposite end of the stage, straight ahead of Loss and directly behind you.
After a short period, Loss will Dash forward to carry out the attack. To evade this attack, Slide underneath Loss as he Dashes forward, placing you behind him. You can then run behind him and get a few hits in before backing off.
