Updated October 13, 2021 by Gabrielle Huston: With the next wave of DLC coming for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity coming so soon, many players are taking the opportunity to catch up on the content released in the first wave. We've updated this guide to make sure you'll have access to all the information you'll need.
Step 1: Ignore The Top Of The Webs, They Don't Help You Unlock The Character
Whether you decide to invest resources and time into the top portion of the web is up to you - but it doesn't help you to unlock the Guardian. Those challenges mostly provide quality of life improvements for the game.
Step 2: Work Through The Web To Reach, Unlock And Complete The Challenges
Your goal is to reach and complete the two challenges that are indicated above with arrows. The lower one is entitled "The Relic of Legend" and the upper one is called "The Ultimate Relic." To reach them, you'll need to complete the other challenges on the web and work your way right. When you've unlocked them, you'll notice that each one will halfway qualify you for the "Battle-Tested Guardian Trial." Provide the necessary resources for both.
You'll need to progress through the centre and lower challenges to get to the Battle-Tested Guardian; a challenge only reveals itself when all strings (other challenges) that lead to it are completed. The centre of the web is the portion that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:unlocks and improves Link's flail weapon. The bottom of the web focuses on a few weapon improvements before unlocking 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:♒the 🐼Master Cycle, a new weapon for Zelda.
New Resources You'll Need To Find To Complete The Challenges
All of these resources didn't exist in the game before the DLC. You'll need to acquire them to complete a lot of the challenges, and you'll get them by completing new quests labelled with "EX."
- Robbie's Maintenance Oil
- Robbie's Machine Lubricant
- Robbie's Curing Agent
- Guardian Claw
- High-Yield Ancient Furnace
- Report: Battle Records
- Report: Material Properties
- Report: Vicious Monsters
- Report: Relic Analysis
- Report: Monster Ecology
Pro-Tips For Completing The Challenges
As you're working through these challenges, keep in mind that, for a challenge to unlock and be visible, you need to complete all the challenges on strands that lead to it. For example, the challenge that's circled above will only become visible once the two challenges to its left (marked with arrows) are completed.
These challenges will require you to fight several Vicious Monsters, a new kind of fight added in this DLC, so if you haven't completed the challenge that sparks the vicious monster fights (the very first challenge on the bottom web, entitled "The Menace of Vicious Monsters), do that first.
When fighting the Vicious Monsters, keep theseꦅ things in mind:
- You'll earn more energy for your rods in DLC quests, so don't be shy about using them
- You'll have to defeat between 1 and 3 bosses
- Some of the bosses may seem familiar, but they'll be much stronger than their counterparts in the base game
- Bosses are often elementally charged, so keep that in mind before entering a fight
- Choosing good food items will make a world of difference

Can't Figure Out How To Complete "The Ultimate Relic" or "The Relic Of Legend" Challenges?
Plenty of players get stuck on this final part of the process, so don't fret! It's usually because there's a completion requirement with no indication of what you need to do, marked only by a bunch of question marks ("???"). What it's trying to tell you is that you need to finish the game's campaign before you can unlock the Battle-Tested Guardian.
Step 3: Fight The Battle-Tested Guardian And Win
Once you have completed both of the left-hand tasks, the final challenge (encircled above) will unlock. You'll notice that it requires you to have completed a certain fight, called "EX Alert: Forgotten Temple." When you leave the lab and view the map of Hyrule again, this fight will appear automatically in east Hebra. Its icon is the same as the Vicious Monsters'.
Pro-Tips For The Battle-Tested Guardian Fight
The Battle-Tested Guardian puts up a tough fight, so don't go in unprepared. Have plenty of apples ready and use the hero that you're most familiar with.
You'll notice during the fight that the Battle-Tested Guardian is almost entirely immune to the effects of elemental rods, so don't bother collecting those before you arrive.
By this point, you've been fighting guardians throughout the campaign and other challenges, so - though there are a few surprises in his move-set - you should be fine.
Step 4: Return To The DLC's EX Royal Ancient Lab And Complete The Final Challenge
Now that you've bested the Battle-Tested Guardian in combat, you can return to the lab and complete that final challenge that's marked with a circle above. It's simply called "The Battle-Tested Guardian."
