This lets you save your favorite characters so that they'll appear in later campaigns, and also serves as the game's mechanism for unlocking new options. Cosmetics, weapons, and even Culture Traits are available through My Pantheon, so it pays to know how it works!

By the time you've played through a few maps, you'll have a robust roster of Godir ready to aid in future conquests. You'll also have more clothing options and tools for building your perfect fantasy empire!

How To Add Characters To My Pantheon

a roster of pantheon heroes in age of wonders 4

Whenever you win a game of Age Of Wonders 4 through any victory condition, you'll be given the option to ascend your Ruler to Magehaven after you leave the postgame stats screen. Doing so saves the Ruler to My Pantheon, which can be accessed in the upper-right corner of the title screen.

When you complete a Story Realm, all the major characters from that Real🎃m will also join My Pantheon - this makes completing the story campaign a great way to fill your roster!

Listed with each character in My Pantheon is their Affinity requirement for recruiting them (see below), which is based on their Affinity at the 💜time of their ascension. You can also set each character to "Hero" or "Ruler" by clicking♕ the button to the right of their listing. This will change the box next to their portrait between green and red, with the following effects:

  • Characters listed as Heroes (green box) can appear as rival Rulers in later games, or they can be recruited as Heroes if your Affinity aligns with theirs.
  • Characters listed as Rulers (red box) can only appear as rival Rulers, and will never offer to join you as Heroes.

You can also play another game as an Ascended character by choosing their empire (pre-made or custom) at the start of a new game. They will start with the same traits they began their original game with, so there is no𒊎 additional benefit to playing a Ruler𓄧 who has previously Ascended.

How To Recruit A Hero From My Pantheon

a pantheon hero joins a later campaign through an event in Age of Wonders 4

Each character on the My Pantheon list has a chance of appearing in later campaigns via an event called A Godir's Aid. If you meet the Affinity requirements listed next to their name on the My Pantheon screen, then a character may offer to join your current game as a Hero. Accepting their help immediately recruits them for free, with their original startin𝕴g equipment and at the maximum starting level for newly-recruited Heroes depending on your current campaign progress.

If recruiting the Pantheon Hero would put you over your current Hero Cap (equal to the number of cities you currently control), accepting their aid will instead send them to the Hero Recruitment screen with a base recruitment cost of zero. You can either pay the fee for recruiting over you🅷r cap, or wait until you have an open slot to recruit them for 🍃free.

How To Unlock New Content In My Pantheon

When you've earned enough Pantheon Points to level up, you can unlock a new feature on the My Pantheon screen - click the right-hand tab to visit the Pantheon Tree. Most of the unlockables are cosmetics, allowing you to customize the appearance of your Rulers and Heroes, but once you reach the middle of the tree you'll start to see unlockables with laurels next to their names.
