It might seem silly to resort to fisticuffs given your arsenal, but it’s a⛦ survival horror game, and it’s best to use every resource at your disposal. You can perform a short-range melee attack by pressing the fire weapon button without having your weapon rꦓaised first.

This move doesn’t𓄧 do too much damage, but it can come in clutch should an enemy get too close. It knocks back most enemies, giving you valuable breathing room. If you run out of rounds with an enemy closing in, it might be more effective to melee them and then reload rather than vice-versa. You might even kill them with it.

Upgrading requires some specific and ultimately limited resources for both Saga and Alan, namely Manuscript Scraps (from Lunchboxes) for the former and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Words of Power for the latter. Committing these resources is final and there is not enough of 🌺either of them to fully upgrade Saga’s weapons or Alan’s abilities.

For many rea🀅sons, the Taken in Alan Wake 2 are far tougher than in♔ the first game. Chief among them is the fact the darkness cloak that makes them bulletproof regenerates if they don’t take damage for too long.

The darkness cloak recovers, but any damage you've already to enemies sticks. If they recover, boost that darkness off and keep shooting.

Combined with the fact that the rules for your flashlight are far stricter than they are in the previous game and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:enemies are much tougher, this means you’ll want to down every enemy as quickly as possible. If you can, always focus down an enemy before you try to take out another o✨ne. It’ll save you batteries and maybe even a few trips to the loading screen in the long run.

4 You Can Return To Eve🐬ry Area

While Saga's sections have an open world design where you're encouraged to return with new equipment or after certain story sections to get to previously unreachable goodies, Alan's story feels more linear. For the most part, the Dark Place is a set of linear levels and once you clear an area, it's on to the next one.

However, as final as your time might seem in the Caldera Street Station or the Poet's Theater, there's actually nothing stopping you from going back to these places. You can even access the plot boards for these areas from the Writer's Room, so you can access all the different states of each area.

Unlike with Saga, you're not as incentivized to return to these places, but it's still a good idea if you know you missed some Words of Power. If you're short on resources, you can also scrounge the containers you missed the first time through.

3 🥂 Stealth Is An Option ♓

While it's not a full-on stealth game, stealth mechanics are present in Alan Wake 2. For Saga, it's important to note that, when enemies spawn, they're not always aware of her presence. This is true even in some events triggered by other factors, like the completion of some Nursery Rhymes and is especially true for the random packs you find in the woods. If they're not aware of Saga, you can sneak around Taken, or at least line up a good sneak attack on them.

For Alan, the shadows he encounters aren't always hostile and, if you move slowly and give them a wide berth, they might not even know you're there. He even has a Word of Power ability to improve this playstyle: Never There. The key to all this is the flashlight — to move with stealth, you'll need to turn it off. Having your flashlight on makes it much easier for enemies to find you, especially if you shine your beam on them.

Breaker ap🍸pears once in every major𓂃 area in the Dark Place. He isn’t always easy to find, but keep a sharp ear out for his telltale humming, and you’ll know he’s nearby. He’s always worth finding, since, in addition to some nice lore, he also gives you a map that labels the location of every Word of Power in that area.

Fights are resource-intensive ordeals. Ammo, health items, batteries – once all these get low, fights get a lot harder. While you’re going to get into a lot of fights, you don’t have to get into every fight.

If you’re not trapped in an area with your enemies, you can probably run away. Keep an eye out for safe havens as well, since you’re safe inside them as long as you don’t fire on enemies from within them (unless you're in a Break Room, then fire away). It's especially important to not fight every shadow as Alan, since most of them are mirages that can't harm you. Trying to dispel them all with your Flashlight Boost is a sure way to run out of batteries quickly.

For Saga’s sections, if you wander in hostile areas (the woods, mostly) for too long, the game will spawn a random pack of enemies to keep you on your toes. You can outrun most of 𝓰these encounters if you know your dest♌ination.
