The Amazon Alexa is a virtual assistant who can pretty much do anything. From playing music, making grocery lists, and providing information about the weather, she's a perfect household companion for every busy (or lazy) twenty-first-century human. Now, thanks to some advanced modern technology, she can even serve as a fun companion during your next round of the popular board game Ticket to Ride.

The update comes courtesy of a recent partnership between Amazon and Ticket to Ride publisher Days of Wonder. Through the magic of technology, Alexa has been granted the ability to play alongside real humans in this strategy-based railway-themed board game. Alexa can participate in both Ticket to Ride and Ticket to Ride Europe either as a moderator who guides players throughout the game and keeps score, or another fully-functioning player. She even can provide background music and sound effects to take your Ticket to Ride experience to the next level.

Players simply have to say, "Alexa, launch Ticket to Ride" or "Alexa, launch Ticket to Ride Europe," to activate a thoroughly guided session. This feature is 𒉰currently available in English and French languages in the Unitไed States, the United Kingdom, and France.

According to a press release from Days of Wonder, the developers hope adding Alexa as a moderator 🥃and scorekeeper will make this beloved game accessible to players of all ages and expe🌄rience levels, by providing narrated rules and guided walkthroughs throughout the game. Veteran players can simply skip these guides to expedite the game.

Additionally, Alexa's ability to act as a Ticket to Ride player will all🎉ow solo players to try their skills out on their own. Normally, the game requires at least two players to operate. Of course, Alexa can also join an already existing group of people if multiple friends and players want to try their hand against her skills.

The developers are incredibly excited about this new update and hope to add additional languages and countries so even more people can play with Alexa. It may sound a little creepy (like something out of a Black Mirror ♊episode), but if you ever need a las🧸t-minute board game companion, at least know that Alexa is an option.
