After a decade, Alien: Isolation is finally getting a sequel.
As announced on Twitter, a new game "is in early development", with Creative Assembly creative director Alistair Hope back at the helm.

It's Been A Long Time Coming

Alien: Isolation is often regarded as one of the best Alien games of all time. But as reported in 2015, publisher Sega wasn't happy with its performance. While it's 📖now revered as a critical darling with a passionate c🌸ommunity behind it, Isolation sold just 2.11 million copies in its first year.

However, it's also worth pointing out that the survival horror genre has seen a huge resurgence in the decade since. At the time, many of the more recognisable icons were leaning further into action (Isolation launched just two years after the maligned Resident Evil 6), leaving indies like Amnesia and Outlast to pick up the torch.
