The Destroyer of Worlds (DoW) module was written by Andrew E.C. Gaska, the sci-fi author of the Chariot of the Gods module included in the ALIEN RPG Starter Set and Starter Bundle. The DoW story sets you in the role of a Colonial Marine with the mission of handling a growing insurgency on the moon Ariaricus. You can probably guess what happens next. Game over, man. Game over. The DoW scenario comes boxed🔯 with an immersive set of cards, handouts, and maps.
DoW is a cinematic scenario, which means it’s designed for the cinematic play mode of the ALIENS RPG. Cinematic play mode modules aꦏre written so they may be played in a single session, and to present players with a swift and vicious challenge indicative of the namesake xenomorphs. Cinematic mode is more focused and less sandboxy as the Campaign mode, and not all PCs are expected to survive.
The ALIEN RPG Starter Set comes boxed with a 104-page abridged softcover version of the Core Rulebook, along with character handouts, and 20 custom dice (ten engraved Base Dice and ten Stress Dice). Also included are a 34” x 22” double-sided star and scenario floor plan map, 56 reference cards (for tracking weapons, personal agendas, and combat initiative), 84 game markers, and the 48-page Chariot of the Gods cinematic module.
