Mihoyo has confirmed that Aloy will not be receiving constellations like all other 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Genshin Impact characters when she🐽 arrives in the game later this week. In essence, this means she will lack the sense of progression and mechanical nuance of traditional heroes, likely because she is both completely free to all players a𒁃nd is the first major crossover for the game since its launch last year. I can’t help but feel bummed out by this.
These are both understandable reasons for such a neutering, but it’s also a discouraging sign for future guest characters and how they will likely be little more than entertaining distractions before we inevitably grow bored of them and return to our original party. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Horizon Zero Dawn isn’t the first crossover I expected from Genshin Impact, both because it’s 🌳a Western property and Aloy isn’t a heroine I thought would translate well to the game’s cute, oversaturated anime aesthetic. I was wrong on all ꦰcounts. I’m happy about her inclusion, but knowing her development will be limited is disappointing.
If you aren’t familiar with constellations in Genshin Impact, they essentially act as a skill tree for each hero that unlocks new abi෴lities and improves upon existing ones. You progress through these star charts by 🌄rolling the same character a second time or using bespoke materials to push them towards the next step, which is the case with The Traveler who can’t be earned a second time.
The same is true for Aloy - she’s a free five-star hero available as part of the crossover - and thus you wouldn’t be able to roll her a second, third, or fourth time to ad꧑vance her constellation. However, we’ve seen alternate means of earning these materials for other characters, and given Aloy’s elemental property is similar to so many others, why couldn’t we just transfer these methods over to her?
Without a constellation, we can only learn the mechanical intricacies of her immediately available skills before coming to terms with the fact there is no way to push them any further. We can presumably level up Aloy and ensure she is able to sta൲nd alongside our existing party, but🦩 knowing she always has a defined finish line in terms of progression has me fearing that she’ll be placed on the bench far sooner than I’d like.
Maybe this is why she’s available as a free hero instead of being hurled into the new update’s banner, since she doesn’t offer the same value as a traditi𒉰onal character. Sony probably wants as many eyes on Aloy as possible too, so making the act of earning her a very small possibility wouldn’t work in the eyes of hardcore players or newcomers logging into Genshin Impact for the first time just to play as her. All of this doesn’t justify the lack of a constellation though - it feels like a deliberate act on behalf of Mihoyo to devalue her worth because she’s a freebie.
I’m sure Aloy will be an incredibly fun character to play as, but one who lacks the required depth to exist in the Genshin Impact meta. She’s a stunt hero, existing as part of a crossover to bring more players to the game instead of fundamentally changing how you might play it. That’s totally fine and I can’t wait for her release, but I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come for future crossovers and characters stepping into this universe from the outside. I love a good constella🍌tion, and I really wish Aloy could get the🤡 one she deserves.
