American McGee wants to make more A๊merican McGee's Alice, but EA won't let him. We should care whether we like the games or not

In the video, McGee says he has done "everything that [he] could over multiple years" to get the Alice sequel, Alice: Asylum, off the ground. He calls on fans to stop asking him about Alice: Asylum since he doesn't own the IP, and EA reportedly has "no desire" to bring back the series.

Instead, McGee suggests that🔥 fans could bring the series back theꦓmselves - although it would be through another method EA would hardly approve of.

"I do think though that there is a ray of hope for those of you out there that would like to see Alice's story continued and that is that the design bible," says McGee. "The complete story, the artwork, all of the chapters, the weapons, the enemies, everything that you could need to develop the new game - it all exists inside of the design bible.

"The design bible, as produced, is the perfect thing to feed into an AI system to have🌱 it completely build the game that is outlined in that design bible."

McGee continues, again stressing that he can't do anything with the Alice series. He says that the rights to Alice are "kind of complicated", and he wouldn't be allowed to make a game "similar to or derivative of" previous games - even if Alice in Wonderland itself is public domain.

"Perhaps it's now time for the fans to bring something unique to game development with Alice, and through the use of things like AI, to go around some of the traditional barriers in the industry that currently stand in the way of bringing the project to life," says McGee.

"There are a ton of legal and ethical questions that surround an idea like this, but I do believe that if you're going to spend your time trying to figure out ways to resurrect Alice's future, that time would be better spent trying to solve those sorts of problems instead of continually asking me questions to which I do not have answers and in relation to properties over which I have no control."

He adds that if fans are fearful that they would be sued for making this AI game, this is why he is also unable to work on the series. Therefore, McGee asks that all questions regarding Alice be directed towards EA 𒆙instead since he doesn't have any say over the series' future.

The Alice: Asylum des♔ign bible is available to download for free online. It has nothing to do with EA, which has distanced itself from the project.
