But before you get started, we thought now would be a great time to update this list about all of our favorite characters in the franchise.
With so many different villagers and special characters to keep players occupied, it can be hard to figure out who we love most, but we did our best to narrow it down to the top 15!
15 ♈ Dr▨. Shrunk
Dr. Shrunk is quite an eccentric character in the game as he runs Club LOL and can teach your character a number of different facial emotions and r𓄧eactions, especially for usage in things like photographs. He is a pink a♌xolotl that works as a comedian.
His name is a play on the term "shrink," since even though he is a comedian, he is also compared to a therapist since he helps players learn how to show their emotions. He first appeared in Wild World and has since appeared in all of the Animal Crossing games, we don't yet know if he'll be included in New Horizons.
14 🎐 Cyrus And Reese
People fell in love with the alpaca couple Cyrus and Reese instantly when they first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf running their shop Re-Tail. Cy💞rus has quick🌠ly become a permanent fixture in the series considering he helps players build items.
He was a pivotal part of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, for instance. Cyrus is a blue alpaca and Reese is a pink one. They're both utterly adorable and super helpful considering they help you sell ite𓄧ms, learn turnip prices, and of course, craft things.
13 Celeste
Celeste first appeared in Wild World and returned in City Folk. She served as the resident astronomer in your town as she got her own place in the museum,𓃲 the observatory. You would be able to♔ peer at the stars and find constellations with the help of Celeste.
She is Blathers' little sister and fans were instantly endeared by the smaller, female owl with aꦍ little pink bow on top of her head. Her name is quite fitting since it sounds similar to "celestial" and her job is to stargaze, something she loves and is passionate about.
12 Brewster
Brewster is a barista pigeon that runs the little cafe known as The Roost. He was first introduced into the franchise in Wild World and has continued to appear in every game since.
He is very popular within the fandom and many people have even worried about whether or not he and The Roost will eventually show up in New Horizons in the future. He is a little grump𓆉y, but once you visit him enough you can even strike up a friendship with the pig💖eon and he'll go so far as adding some pigeon milk to your coffee if you like.
11 Daisy Mae
Daisy Mae is a new character introduced to New Horizons and is the granddaughter of Joan, the t♊urnip seller. It looks like Daisy is taking over for J💖oan as the resident turnip stalks character in the new game.
It's not yet clear if Joan will be in the game. Daisy Mae instantly endeared fans thanks to her adorable design. Even her permanent snot bubble hasn't seemed to push fans away. She is a small boar that speaks with a Southern accent and walks aroundඣ holding turnips on top of her head.
10 Tom Nook
Tom Nook is either your best friend or the antagonist of the series, depending on how you view the game. Tom is a tanuki, who provides the players with their first home when they start the game. You can choose to pay off your debt to Tom Nook as you play, and after each successful payoff, he will give you the option to 🍃increase the size of your home.
In the spin-off game, Happy Home Designer, the Tanuki even takes a jump into the world of home decorating. Alon☂g with his realtor expertise and ability to run a shop, Tom Nook is one of the most versatile characters in the series.
9 Redd
Redd is hands🦋-down the shadiest character to ever gꦑrace the Animal Crossing series. From the series start on the Nintendo Gamecube, to the most recent ti♐tle for 3DS, Redd has been trying to con players for years. Redd knows how to run a successful black market though, and doesn't stick around one area for long. You can only find this notorious fox on certain days during the week.
Redd is also one of the few places that you can buy fine art paintings from, but be warned he isn't a stranger to selling fake p꧒ieces at high prices.
8 Gracie
In the world, Gracie is a celebrity known for her trending fashion. Gracie's visits to town change throughout the series. In the first game, she will show up, and the player must wash her car to get special outfits. In later entries, she will appear to quiz the players for clothes while in City Folk, she has her ꦦown store.
In the newest game in the series New Leaf, Gracie will show up in town after you 🍨spend a set amount of money shopping. Gracie will cause unique dialogue to appear when you speak to the other villagers.
7 Mr. Resetti
Poor Mr.Re🌠𒁏setti has lost his job in the upcoming entry in the series; still, he stays a fan favorite that will hopefully find a new gig in New Horizons. Mr. Resetti was put into the original Animal Crossing game by the developers🐬 as a joke character who lectures you every time you turn off your system🅺 without saving.
As you contentiously forgot to sa🔴ve, his lectures would get worse to the point🍌 where players had to manually type on responses to resume playing the game. Mr. Resetti even continued punishing players in New Leaf.
