The franchiseꦿ has a ton of characters. From villagers that can live in the player's town or on the player's island to special characters that either stay there all the time and pe🧸rform services for villagers or other special characters that come and go periodically, or show up just for events.
Among the villagers that show up periodically in the games to 🦹provide services for the player is Katrina. This character is a fortune teller that comes to the villager's town in order to read their future and tell the player the kind of luck they'll be having and, if necessary, how to improve that luck. This character is one that has had slightly different roles in the games, but she's definitely one of the most interesting and unique in the series.

10 ♊ She's Been In Every Game
While there are a lot of characters that have come and gone from the Animal Crossing franchise, Katrina is one that has been in every single game since the very first one. Although people that will have to wait to see what kind of role she plays in the latest game, she's been in every single installment of the Animal Crossing franchise from the Japan exclusive Animal Forest to spin-off games like Happy Home Designer and Pocket Camp.
9 𝔉 She's Full Of Zelda References ဣ
Although it's easy to say that Katrina's tent is clearly just that of a generic fortune teller, eagle-eyed Nintendo fans might notice that her tent and character are full of references to The Legend of Zelda. Not only is she similar to the fortune teller in that game with her candle-lit table and purple color scheme, but there are some ref⛄erences to the franchise inside h🏅er tent.
In City Folk and beyond, her tent has a Triforce symbol on the fabric and there are jugs all around her on the floor that look super similar to the ones in The Wind Waker.
8 Despite Her Name, 𝓡She's Not A Cat
There are some Animal Crossing characters that have puns for names. For instance, Tom Nook may be refer♔red to as a raccoon around the internet, but he's actually a Japanese animal known as a tanuki. That makes the fact that his name is Tom Nook, or Tanukichi in Japan, a lot more clever, right?
While that may lead someone to think that Katrina's ♏name is a pun and she's a clever housecat, that's not quite the case! In fact, she's a panther. Not only is she a specﷺial kind of big cat, but she's also the only panther in the entire series.
7 😼 ཧ She Used To Have Different Fortunes
Most Animal Crossing fans are likely familiar with Katrina for her role in New Leaf. In this game, players go to her tent when she sets up over and over until finally, they're able to open up a permanent shop for her on Main Street. There, she can give the player a variety of different fortunes, in𒁏cluding "Fortune Upon Love," "Disaster Upon Health," and "Fortune Upon Friendship."
But, in the previous games, the way that her fortunes worked was slightly different. Instead of these super ominous fortunes,꧙ she would give the player some more direct answers to what was going to happen to them. She would tell them if they were going to be unlucky with running, lucky with money, or super popular with their other villagers.
6 She Was Diffe𓆉rent In City Folk 💙
Along with having a variety of different fortunes in the older games, she had a really interesting and different role in City Folk. Instead of simply giving fortunes periodically when she showed up to set up her tent 🔴for the day, she had a permanent storefront in the city and would sell the players a luck charm.
These charms would cost 100 Bells and the playeꦅr would be given a task that a visitor would have to come to town to complete for them. These tasks involved things like catching a certain number of fish or pulling a certain number of weeds.
5 She Was In Super Smas🌸h Bros. Before Isabelle
When Isabelle was revealed as a fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it was really exciting for a lot of Animal Crossing fans. But how many people knew that Katrina w𒐪as actually added to th🐟e fighting franchise first?
Okay, technically Katrina isn't in Smash. She wasn't made a fighter like Isabelle, but Katrina has been appearing as a trophy since Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where she can give the player a special fortune and, like many other special characters from Animal Crossing, appears as a spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!
4 🔯 Her Prices Have Changed
To get your fortune told by Katrina in New Leaf, the player has to either go to her tent or her permanent location on Main Street and cough up a total of 500 Bells. Compared to those home loans that Tom Nook gives out and the Public Works Projects that villagers request, that sounds like nothing! But, her prices actually used to be way lower in old games.
In Wild World, City Folk, and Animal Forest, Katrina's service only cost 100 Bells. And in Animal Forest, the Japane🌳se exclusive first game in the franchise, she only cost 50 Bel🧸ls.
3 She's Not Nintendo's Only Fortune Te♌ller
Katrina may be pretty unique in Animal Crossing with her fortunes, but she's far from the only fortune teller to appear in a Nintendo game. Katrina's references to the fortune teller in The Legend of Zelda are clever, but Nintendo hasn't sto🍒pped with their myౠstics yet.
In Pokémon Sword & Shield, there's also a fortune teller! Although she's not a panther, she does claim that she'll base the fortune that she gives people on their birthday, the same way that Katrina's trophy does in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
2 🐭 𓂃 Her Role Is All Her Own
There are a lot of characters in the Animal Crossing franchise that have changed their roles over the years or even had someone else take over their role entirely for them. For instance, Timmy and Tommy took over the store for Tom Nook and in New Leaf, the꧋ player took over as mayor after✅ Tortimer chose to retire.
While there are a lot of characters that have come and gone and had their roles replaced by other characters, Katrina is unique because her role is all her own. There are no other characters - panther or otherwise! - that are telling her fortunes. This is good news for people that love this optimistic big cat because it means she'll likely 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:be a staple in future games.
1 Your Fortune Is Determined When L♒oading
Worried about bad luck? Although it may seem tempting to just avoid pay🦄ing Katrina to tell your fortune in order to avoid potentially finding out that you've got a fortune that will have you tripping and falling or being stung by bees all day long, it won't work. While the player may not know what their luck is until Katrina tells them, it's pre-determined as soon as the player loads their game up. Katrina revealing it does not influence luck!
