Depending🌱 on the insects you’ve donated to Blathers’ museum, you might have started a bug fight club.
This is either good news or bad news, depending on your feelings towards violence and anarchic movies from the late ‘90s. After being captured and transported to Blathers’ museum in New Horizons, certain bugs might form fight cl⛎ubs to pass the time.
It’s true! We’ve got video evidence courtesy of Reddit user sid-thesloth, who posted this short clip to the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Animal Crossing: New Horizons subreddit. In it, we see several stag, rhino, and Hercules beetles standing around in a circle while a golden stag and a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:rainbow stag duke it out in the middle. The scene is eerily similar to what you’d find in the 1999 classic film, Fight Club.
And it’s actually exactly what would happen in real life, too! Hercules, stag, and rhinoceros beetles all use their horns 🍌to fight in the wild. This is usually done in territorial disputes for mating but has also been known to happen over food sources during times of scarcity.
This behavior is also why horned beetles are often used for gambling in Asia. Two beetles are placed in a ring around a female of the same species, and then the two male beetles fight for mating rights. These fights usually don’t end in death or seriousꦛ injury, and instead, the defeated male just walks away dejected (at least, for a bug).
We’re pretty sure that those fights don’t usually also involve several other beetle onlookers, but if you’re a macho male beetle with🌌 nothing better to do all day after getting stuck in some owl’s museum, why not start a fight club?
Ho🅺rned beetles are also kept as pets in Asia since they’re only aggressive to other beetles. Those horns aren’t really dangerous to humans, and stag and rhino beetles can be very gentle with fingers and hands. They’re also very clean, easy to feed, and can live up to two years if properly cared for.
Frankly, we’re surprised Blathers’ museum hasn’t devolved into a bat🧜tle royale game, what with all the predatory insects that folks can donate.
