Animal Crossing: New Horizons may be in its early days of release, but the game has already become the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch game in Japan. With so many people playing the game around the world, there are undoubtedly ma✱ny jokes and relatable experiences being shared 💦by fans online.
The ingenuity of Animal Crossing fans knows no bounds: whether it's the most beautiful terraformed islands, the cutest dress designs, or the funniest memes, there will always be new creations from one of Nintendo's most creative fandoms. Here are 10 memes that prove that Animal Crossing players are the funniest out there.
10 💃 👍Peacock Butterfly Bonanza
A classic meme given an Animal Crossing spin, this screenshot from the VeggieTales TV show has been used in countless ways. The meme itself is from the episode "Madame Blueberry" where three salesmen known as the Scallions sing "Allow us๊ to introduce ourselves", attempting to scam Madame Blueberry.
In this meme, the ones intr꧒oducing themselves are Peacock Butterflies, who flock in droves to any hybrid flower. It is downright comical how these butterflies seem to spawn out of nowhere, but not unwelcome like door-to-door salesmen are. These bugs are so common that it is no hard feat to catch🌌 a dozen Peacock Butterflies in under 10 minutes, if it's the right time of day, of course.
9 I Sure Am Tired Of That! ♐
One of the many mysteries of the Animal Crossing world (besides the fact that there are hamster villagers and hamsters i🦋n cages) is that anything underwater will have the shape of a fish. ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚIt doesn't matter if it's a squid or an ocotpus: That thing will look like a plain Horse Mackerel until you reel it in.
Perhaps the worst offender of the "universal fish shape" phenomenon are ꦛthings that aren't even fish. That's right: trash, in this casꦓe, an old tire. This donut-shaped car part shares exactly no resemblance to a fish, and yet has the same silhouette as one. Obviously, this is to keep players from predicting every catch, but in this case, you'll never guess "who's that fish?"
8 𒆙 Heartfelt Sentiment🌳s
Many players opt to have ceremonies for each project or building they complete on their island, as ceremonies help improve the overall ratiꩵng of the island. Having a higher rating will unlock the ability ඣto Terraform one's island, so it's important to increase the star rating to progress with the game.
When it comes to making a speech as the Resident Rep, however, the meager three options for expressing one's joy is rather hilarious, none funnier than simply "Woooo!" How Tom Nಌook takes the player seriously is a mystery in itself.
7 🧸 Late-Ni🧸ght Fishing
One of the more of New Horizons is the constant stockpiling you may find yourself doing outside of Nook's Cranny. Some players are all about maximizing𒊎 profit and will refuse to use the drop-off box because of its 20% deduction in bells for handling fees. After reeling in a dozen Sturgeon and Sharks, they will simply place the fish tanks all around the store until the next morning a🤡rrives.
This reference to Pixar's Finding Nemo reminds us just how bewildered these poor fish must really be. "Why are we in this tank? What is a 'Nook's Cranny?'" ꧋They may ask. Alas, they will never know, sold into Timmy and Tommy's possession the very n♊ext day.
6 ꧅ Crafting Craze
Because many villagers have DIY workstations in their h⛎ouse, the player will often enter to find them crafting a certain object (sometimes furniture, sometimes wallpaper, etc.) Upon chatting with♔ the player, they will offer to share the recipe for their creation, making popping by your neighbor's house a vital part of collecting DIY recipes.
The specific use of the word "crafting" instantly brings to mind the Rick and Morty episode "The Ricks Must Be Crazy" in which Rick competes with rival scientist Zeep Xanflorp (played by Stephen Co𝔍lbert) in a crafting b💟attle. Thank goodness villagers like Billy offer to share!
5 Caged In
Custom designs have never been easie𒁃r to create and implement in Animal Crossing. With Able Sisters codes, QR codes, and websites that convert images to QR codes, it is the absolute best time to meme in video games.
This player was invited over to player Liz' island, only to find out they had been caged...by Nicolas Cage himself. The classic "You Don't Say?" meme has been around the internet for ages, so it making its way onto New Horizons was inevitable. Unfortunately, players can't move furn🐓iture when visitors are present, so this💖 visit was probably very short.
4 ෴ Eternal Bass
Though the Animal Crossing series is usually quite 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:relaxing to play, the rage that can overtake players catching their tenth Sea Bass in a row is astounding. This fish has the same size silhouette as several other rare fish 𓆏like Tuna and Blue Marlin, a📖nd is, unfortunately, the most common ocean fish out there.
This leads to many disappointing catches as well as an endless repetition of "No wait--it's at least a C+!" This line can become haunting after reading it o⛎ver 100 times, combined with the irritation of wasting fish bait to obtain this scaly joke of a fish.
3 Thisℱ Is Fine.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows players to put the furniture item Campfire into their homes, and fans have taken full advantage of it. Not only have there been many memes and photoshoots taken of players and villagers surrounded by fire, but one player decided to pay homage to the well-known meme from webcomic Gunshow.
In an expert recreation 🌠of the widely shared two panels of KC Green's "On Fire", the player sits in a wooden chair, encircled by flames, stating "This Is Fine." They even got the color of the wallpaper right.
2 🔯 And Bug's Your Uncle
Once players start accumulating flowers on their island, they will start to see what's called "Man-f♍aced Stink Bugs" appears in bunches of flowers, aptly named for their resemblance to...well, a man's face. This is a new addition to the bug encyclopedia of Animal Crossing and can be sold to Nook's Cranny for 1000 bells.
Whenever the player catches one, they will exclaim "Reminds me of my uncle!" Cue the Spiderman jokes here, with Tobey Maguire's rendition of Spiderman looking over the face of his deceased uncle...That one🌟 still hurts.
1 ﷽ We Are All Donkey
It's very easy to binge a game when it first comes out, and Animal Crossing is no exception. Because it takes place in real-time, however, it means that the player may find themselves chatting up their villagers a little more often than is considered "normal". Truly, some villager quotes are so hilarious that we can't get enough of our fellow island residents, but let's consider it like this: If someone talked to you twenty separate times, all in the same day, wouldn't you bꦬe as annoyed as Shrek is?
It's understandable, but it still hurts our feelings a little 🅠bit.
