In this brave new world, it's been hard to not only maintain our daily rituals🀅, but to observe times of the year traditionally reserved for celebration. Social distancing means not gathering for important holidays and major events, and while it's a necessary precaution, that doesn't make it sting any ওless.

Ramadan is a holy month, one marked by routine fasting and regular reflection of prayer and𝓀 spirituality. Eid is like the exclamation mark to that whole month, coming complete with huge, festive gatherings and a veritable bounty of delicious food.

So, you know. Not something that can really be celebrated in 2020. It's a shame, as this is an incredibly important holiday for the Muslim community. Luckily, prolific indie developer Rami Ismail devised an ingenious solution: why not just throw the whole thing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

in his Animal Crossing town, whi💖ch prompted countless othe🌄rs to do the same.

In a time where we shouldn't be doing much outside of staying home and taking every precaution known to man, stuff like this is brillia💙nt. It's a sweet way to celebrate in lieu of an actual gathering, and a great way to stay connected w♋ith not only your loved ones, but other members of your faith as well.

With any luck, the Muslim community will be able to celebrate a full Eid next year, and this global nightmare gripping our collective conscience will come to an end. In the meantime, we're grateful that Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
