168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been selling at a rapid rate, which was expected given the popularity of the franchise. But surely, it wasn't expected to outdo Nintendo Switch titles like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Smash Bros. or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Sword & Shield.
The game released on March 20 and dropping for the first time on the best current-selling console was always going to make it extra popular. Hitting Smash Bros. and Pokemon out of the water in terms of sales, though? That seemed like a 😼tough ask at first.
Where Japan is concerned, however, New Horizons sold 1.88 million copies in its first three days on the market, reports Famitsu (H/T ). The number only accounts for physical copies of the game, but you could imagine how many times it's been bought via digital download - likely a lot. Sales of the other aforementioned titles paled in comparison over the course of their first three days out there, with Smash Bros. shipping 1.23 million copies and Sword & Shield selling 1.36 million. As expected, both of t꧒hese ga♔mes were huge hits, selling 17.68 million and 16.06 million copies, respectively, as of the end of 2019.
Whether or not the latest Animal Crossing will surpass one or both of these numbers is left to be seen but, given the current trend, there's little to suggest that it won't. It should also be noted that the game's release also brought in some major sales for the Switch. 🔜The Switch Lite sold 263,103 units last week, while the original SKU sold 129,947 units. Put together, the lifetime numbers for the Switꦚch consoles have already eclipsed the lifetime number of sales for the Nintendo Wii in Japan.
There's little doubt that the coronavirus outbreak has given Nintendo a huge assist with New Horizons and 😼Switch sales. More people are staying at home than ever before in attempts to slow and eventually stop the spread of COVID-19 and are in need of various forms of entertainment.
Television, streaming services, and video games have all come to the fore during the pandemic and the likes of YouTube and Netflix have had to due to the unpreced🔯ented strain currently being placed on the internet. Sony has also had to scale back on the PS4's download speed in order to help make sure the web does not break.
Animal Crossing couldn't have come out at a ♓better time and Nintendo has certainly profited from the respiratory disease's threat, albeit unwittingly (at least we hope so). But let's not give the coronavirus all the credit, this game easily sells itself.
