Today's Animal Crossing direct was absolutely full with big announcements - far more than any of us were expected for a 20 minutes broadcast. However, one of the biggest announcements came towards the end - the November 5 version 2.0 update will be the last for New Horizons, a little under two years since it launched in early 2020.

Fittingly, this final update is going out with a bang. Among the updates was the highly requested Brewster, who returned alongside his cafe, The Roost. On top of that, there was the surprise announcement of paid DL🌊C on the same day as the update, titled Happy Home Paradise.

Version 2.0 brings with it more or less every big fan request. This includes little fixes such as being able to squeeze between furniture in your house, allowing you to shove more in there, as well as increasing the number of bridges and inclines you can add to the island. Old features are also making a return, such as having islanders visit your home and invite you to theirs, and New Leaf's ordinance system allowing you to have a say in when everyone wakes up, and how long shops stay open.

The free update will launch in three weeks time, November 5. Animal Crossing New Horizons is 🍒available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
