The Animal Crossing series is no stranger to crossovers, as items from other Nintendo franchises can be found in different Animal Crossing gamesIt was even possible to unloc🌳k Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) games in the days before the Virtual Console.

It seems that a new Nintendo franchise will be making an appearance in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, as the official Twitter account for the game is hinting at a future crossover with Splatoon 2.

Splatoon crossover development wouldn't be the first time that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has held timed events, as the game previously hosted a "Super Mario Crossover" event from March to April in 2018. This event allowed players to create & win items from the Super Mario series, including mushrooms, stars, and outfits.

Splatoon crossover event would likely offer the same ꧟kind🌺 of rewards, with players being able to win Inkling clothing and various weapons from the games, which they can use to decorate their camp.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp originally came under fire for using the same sleazy monetary practices that are used by other mobile games, which somehow seemed worse when applied to an Animal Crossing title.

These dodgy business practices have done little to improve the success of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, as the gam💎e has earned over in revenue since it was first released.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp hasn't quite reached the level of success of Fire Emblem Heroes, which has earned over  in revenue since its 🌳release, but it has the potential to earn a lot more💫 in the future.

The Nintendo Switch will almost certainly receive an Animal Crossing title in the future and it will likely be compatible with Pocket Camp. This is a tactic that is being used with the upcoming Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu! and Let's Go Eevee games, which are looking like they will be some of the biggest selling games of the year. This is due to their directly connected compatibility with Pokémon Go.

With the upcoming Nintendo Direct being held back for a week, we may learn more about an upcoming Animal Crossing/Splatoon cross🍒over when the rescheduled Nintendo Direct is br♔oadcast tomorrow.
