Animal Crossings: New Horizons Still Number One On UK Boxed Charts

New Horizons, whose success is largely attributed to COVID-19 lockdowns, sold 31 million copies worldwide and broke the console game record for most digital units so🦹ld🎀 in a single month with five million copies at launch. The Nintendo title is the 15th best-selling game in history, the best-selling game in the Animal Crossing series, the best-selling Nintendo Switch exclusive title, the second best-selling game on the Nintendo Switch, and the second-best selling game of all time in Japan.

Nintendo almost held the top three spots of this week’s UK Boxed Charts, but Ring Fit 🐲Adventure, released on October 18, 2019, fell short of the third spot by just 52 units. The exercising action RPG sales increased 34% week-on-week, but fell slightly behind Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which remained in third despite an 8% sales drop.

Meanwhile, Hitman 3, released on January 20, fell to No. 17 with a 54% decrease in sales week-on-week, while Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthbound, released on February 4 by Maximum Games in the UK, made its d🍰ebut on the charts at No. 36. The game, an action RPG developed by Cyanide and published by Nacon, is based on White Wolf Publishing's tabletop RPG Werewolf: The Apocalypse, and is part of the larger World of Darkness series.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury for Nintendo Switch, which features the same co-op gameplay, creative levels and power-ups a💙s the original game but with added enhancements,ꦡ will be released on Friday. That game, listed at $59.99, is expected to be the best-selling boxed game by next week.
