Another Crab's Treasure: Roland, Venture Crabitalist Boss Guide
Rolan🅷d hits hard, but with this strategy, you can beat h𝄹im without much trouble.
When enough progress is made, it's time to settle an unfinished battle with the mystܫerious Inkerton, who accompanies Roland. Since Roland usually does most of the talking, you didn't know much about Inkerton. This won't be an easy fight, as implied by his nickname, the Crab Hunter... It's advisable to read this 🍌guide before facing off against this intimidating and enigmatic squid.
First Encounter With Inkerton
Inkerton, you encounter him while traveling from the Flotsam Runoff fast travel point in Sands Between to Flotsam Vale. His nickname in this encounter is Roland’s Right Claw. In this battle, you don't see his full power. Additionally, the fight ends when you've depleted 25% of his health bar.
In this battle, Inkerton only makes horizontal or diagonal swings with his pliers, and he doesn't perform any other attacks. These attacks are straightforward and readable, making it possible to parry. However, it's still advisable to be cautious.
Where To Find Inkerton, The Crab Hunter
Finding Inkerton is remarkably easy compared to the previous boss, Petroch, The False Moon. Start from the Sleeping Giant fast travel point, jump to the stone pillar to the east, then head northeast.
Cross over with the hook above and continue northeast. Enter the massive skeleton and proceed♑. Inside the skeleton, head east, triggering a cutscene and initiat💖ing your battle with Inkerton.
Pre-Fight Preparations
Best Stats
If you're around level 40, it should suffice for this battle, but having a level above 40 would be advantageous. It wouldn't be fair to say this is an easy fight. Your ATK or MSG stat should be at least 20 to deal decent damage. Additionally, the total of your RES and VIT stats should be around 20.
Since your shell may degrade quickly in this battle, having a higher VIT stat rather than RES would be advantageܫous.
Best Shells
In terms of shells, you might lose quite a few during the battle. Since the shells in the battle area might not suit your build, it's beneficial to bring one that does. Matryoshka (L) can be particularly useful as it transforms into its Medium and Small versions when broken.
Baby Shoe and Skull allow you to revive once with the Another Chance ability. Besides these, it's advantageous to bring a du🐭rable shell that fits your build. Fragile and weak shells can ꦡput you at significant risk in this fight.
Best Stowaways
For your build, aside from the stowaways you always equip, it might be beneficial to allocate a slot for Another Crab to gain an extra revival chance. If yoꦗu don't have a stowaway that suits your build, prioritize those that increase VIT, DEF, and RES stats.
- For physical builds, essential stowaways include Mussel+, Puffer Quill, Rusty Nail+, Shark Tooth+, and Sinker++.
- For magic builds, suitable stowaways are Anemone++, Phytoplankton, Siphonophore+, and Whelk++.
Sinker is an effective stowaway for increasing the balance meter bar of enemies. Small Battery is useful for magic builds, giving you a chance to shock Inkerton.
Additionally, purchasing as much stowaway capacity as possible from the Bottom Feeders in New Carcinia will be to your advantag🧔e.
Best Skills
Magic builds should definitely unlock all three Umami Training skills to gain an ext💖ra 15 MSG. Additionally, Housewarming is an effective skill since it provides꧂ an extra free Shell Spell.
Physical damage builds can deal extra damage to Inkerton with the Scrap Hammer, though this damage type may feel cumbersome. If your build focuses on capsizing enemies, Dispatch is also a useful skill.
In this battle, it's crucial to protect your shell as much as possible. Therefore, unlocking Kintsugi and Self-Repair will be advantageous.
Best Adaptations
Royal Wave and Eelectrocute are essential adaptations for this battle. With Eelectrocute, you can disrupt Inkerton's combos from mid-range and stun him, giving you an opportunity to deal damage while he's incapacitated. Royal Wave increases the damage he takes. While he's stunn▨ed, you can also consider healing yourself with Heartkelp Pods.
Find Collectibles To Strengthen Kril
Additionally, don't forget to collect 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Stainless Relics to enhance your fork, improve your health with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bloodstar Limbs, and increase the maximum number of Heartkelp Pods you can carry with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Heartkelp Sprout.
How To Beat Inkerton, Crab Hunter
There's nothing extraordinarily unique about Inkerton; he is a strong and fast boss. You need to adapt to his tempo. Your first fight with him was just a demo of what you're up against. Now you will see his true power. In this battle, Inkerton wields not only his pliers but also a gun, giving him an advantage at both close and long r🐟ang𒅌e.
Additionally, his pliers can sometimes transform into a long weapon. Here are Inkerton's attacks:

Attack Description |

Plier Slash |

Inkerton swings his pliers horizontally at nearly a 180-degree angle. |
Confetti Pistol |
Long |
Inkerton retreats and quickly fires at you with his pistol, pushing you back slightly. |
Triple Slash |
Long |
Inkerton's pliers transform into their long version, performing a triple attack. The first two strikes are horizontal, and the third strike is a vertical slam to the groun💮d. |
Long Sweep |
Medium |
Inkerton's pliers transform into their long version, and he swings them in a wide arc. |
Smokescreen |

Inkerton releases ink in a nearby area. Standing in it will blind you. |
Crab Hunter |

(Aggro Attack) Inkerton grabs you with his pliers and squeezes, dealing damage, then throws you to the ground. |
Inkerton is an extremely agile boss, and his weapon changes form frequently. His pliers occasionally transform into a long version, granting him extra range. It’s possible to parry his Plier Slash attack, but be aware that while he appears to be executing a Plier Slash, his weapon might transform into the long form, resulting in a Triple Slash attack.
If he performs the Triple Slash, it’s a good idea to attempt a parry on the final strike, as it is slower than the first two,ꦡ allowing you to deal damage with a Riposte.
For both the Triple Slash and Long Sweep attacks, which hit a wide arc, it’s crucial not to try dodging them. Instead, block with your shell or attempt to parry the final strike. If you aren’t too close to him during his Triple Slash, you can use your Eelectrocute adaptation to interrupt his combo.
Inkerton’s long-range attack, the Confetti Pistol, is swift. However, if you see him raising his weapon, and you’re close enough, it’s not impossible to parry. That said, dodging this attack is a better strategy, as blocking it with your shell will still deal significant damage and might break your shell.
The Elusive Prey skill is highly useful in this fight, granting you a few seconds of invulnerability while searching for a new shell if yours breaks.
Also, if you’re healing with a Heartkelp Pod, he might quickly fire at you with the Confetti Pistol. The range of this attack is long but not limitless, so ensure you heal at a good distance and with proper timing.
Inkerton’s Crab Hunter attack is a close-range move that he can execute suddenly. When you see the red icon above your head, dodge quickly. If your health is high enough, this attack won’t be lethal.
Lastly, standing in his Smokescreen attack is not advisable. While you can’t see Inkerton within the smoke, he can still see you and might use his Aggro Attack (Crab Hunter) or the Confetti Pistol, dealing substantial damage. Exit the Smokescreen as quickly as possible for your safety.
Inkerton, Crab Hunter Rewards
By defeating Inkerton, you earn 30,000 microplastics and a Stainless Relic. There are no other rewards. Afterward, you can leave the area and exit The Unfathom, then speak to Konche to enter the next region, The ಌOld Ocean.
