Respawn will start banning “piggy-backing” players from Apex Legends in the near future.
Apex Legends is not screwing around. Earlier this month, Respawn Entertainment revealed that they’d banned almost 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:800,000 players that were using hacks or other illegal cheating software. And that banhammer continues to swing with the recent announcement that t⛄hey’re also going to start banning players who ride on others’ coattails in order to progress through the Battle Pass.
In a recent “check-in” update on , Respawn community manager Jay “Jayfresh” Frechette detailed just what exactly the developers are working on for the next Apex Legends patch. One of those issues is players that don’t take part in the game and just try to survive as 🐽long as possible while the otheಌr two players still try to win.
The practice is called piggy-backing, and it’s defined as “when a player drafts﷽ off other players in the squad to carry them to a good position and level up faster but doesn't actually participate in the match [meaning they never collect a weapon, fire a shot, don’t deal any damage, etc]."
Since the bigges𒈔t XP gains♊ come from merely surviving longer and not from kills or other performance metrics, leveling up quickly is often just a matter of staying out of site. Respawn has received quite a few complaints following the introduction of the Battle Pass, so it looks like they’re going to take a look at player data to determine if a ban should be handed out.
R💛espawn will "start instituting temp bans for players that exhibit piggy-backing behavior and extreme cases could lead to a permanent ban.💞" Bannings won’t happen immediately, but Jay wanted to give players a “heads up” in order to avoid getting banned in the future.
