Respawn's Apex Legends could go down as the 🐼most pleasant surprise of 2019.
The free-to-play battle royale that no one knew was coming has almost everyone raving and Fortnite now has some legitimate competition in the form of a novel first-person shooter spinning off from the popular Titanfall series.
Judging from social media activity, there's hardly anything to complain🔯 about. A section of fans have expressed disappointment over the fact that wall-running and other movements aren't part of this game. But, aside of that, there's little else to garner a gripe; plus it has since been explained that the above wouldn't be as suitable for a ba🌊ttle royale.

A🌺lso missing from this free-to-play title are titans, which ties into th🌳e lack of wall-running. You won't be able to play as a shockingly agile mecha, which does seem fair for the game type, although they certainly wouldn't hurt. Who knows, though? They could be included in the future.
As of next month, however, players will be able to purchase a battle pass for the game, with Apex Legends taking a page out of Fortnite's book to hand users the opportunity to unlock new skins and levels, per .
The passes will run for an entire season 𒀰- season 1 ends in June and season 2 picks up from there. Seasons laಞst three months and the last season of year 1 will begin in December.
Every season will offer new items, and a roadmap discovered by Redditors hints at new legends, weapons, and loot for every caღmpaign. The devs already have a year's worth of content planned out.
Meanwhile, Electronic Arts has confirmed that there will be no pay-to-win model in this game and൲ their monetizing will be completely aesthetically-based.
“We’re dedicated to a player’s-choice approach🌺,” a spokesperson said. “We’re committed to the protection of our players.”
For now, it is still uncl🔯ear how new items will be added. It's possible that all fresh content will roll out on the f𓄧irst day of the season, but they could also be spread through the three-month period.
A clearer picture should be available w🌺hen the first season kicks off in March.
