Apex Legends stormed the gaming world last year when Respawn stealth released it. It's since grown into a core EA title, and so took up a significant part of EAPlay. The resistance against crossplay has been eroding. While crossplay between PC and one console has happened before, crossplay between different consoles was unheard of. Microsoft slowly started to break down the barriers when they announced that Minecraft would feature cross-play between Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
