As of early last week, Respawn posted a Level Designer vacancy – coupled with an eyebrow-raising job description that implies a third Apex Legends map is in the works.
Players have enjoyed a good deal of variety between Apex's original Kings Canyon and the second, larger World's Edge. Not only do the two large maps provide two completely different experiences, they've undergone plenty of changes over the past year. Despite the good work Respawn has done in this realm, players always hunger for more. According to this job d🍸escription, thꦏey are well-aware and already on top of things.
The new Level Designer job description lays out some interesting tidbits. Whether or not we should take "new worlds" literally is up for debate, but "create... large scale multiplayer maps" sounds like a solid confirmation. It seems pretty clear that Respawn is already trying to get a third Apex Legends map to its player-base.
Kings Canyon is known for its small, accessible spaces. It's fast and ༺fun, quick and hard-hitting. World's Edge, on the other hand, is a favorite among professionals. Great loot options a🐼nd plenty of defensible positions make for exciting competitive play. What, then, could the aim of this mysterious third map be? Personally, I'd love to see something completely innovative and game-changing, but only time will tell.
