Octane is one of the best at making it into the ring on time with his incredible speed and regeneration🌳 abilities. This time, he had to rely on some incredible ingenuity to save himself.
Octane was the first new character added to Apex Legends in Season 1. He's renowned for speed and his tactical ability is a stim which gives him a 30% movement boost for six seconds at the expense of 10 health. In normal circumstances, losing 10 health isn't a problem becauseౠ his passive ability allows him to regenerate health. In a firefight, it can be catastrophic if he uses it too often because his health doesn't regenerate fast enough. Octane's ultimate ability is his jump pad which launches him into the air in the direction he's running to.
user, u/ihateyourbabies recently posted a new use for the jump pad. He was running on the train tracks between the Mirage Voyage to the Harvester while the ring was closing. He was far behind the advancing ring and desperately trying to catch up before dying. Despite finding a jump pad to give👍 him a boost and using his stim for more speed, he was still far behind. Things looked bleak and his chances of survival were disappearing by the second as his health ran down.
Fortunately, he found another jump pad in his path. Instead of just jumping on it to get a boost he first threw his own jump pad onto it. His jump pad landed on the one on the ground and was launched into the air in the same trajectory of his run. He then jumped on the first jump pad and was shot into the air, following the path of the jump pad he⛎ had thrown. He landed on the jump pad and was launched into the air and into the safe zone with his last sliver of health remaining.
The user was fortunate to have a jump pad in his path on which to bounce his own jump pad. That said, i💜t took some quick thinking, and maybe some luck to pull off the move. At least he's taught the rest of us a neat trick to try when we're in trouble.
