Season 4 is coming at fans faster than an adrenaline junkie with bi🍷onic legs.

A new season update right around♛ the corner. Just like last season, developm꧑ent studio and publisher  gifted us with a trailer that blew our minds.

The teaser promises the forthcoming season will turn up the heat — literally, given that the Earth is scorched and lava seems to be prevalent all 𒉰around the map.

This isn’t the game’s first Season 4 teaser — who could forget 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Forge's untimely death or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Revenant’s role in a brutal bloodbath? — but it’s players’ first look at wh💙at they can expect when they drop into Worlds Edge after the season begins.

Here's our full recap of what's going down.

A Whole New World's Edge

The gameplay trailer starts with a friendly-sounding advertisement for Hammond Robotics. If you're not familiar with Hammond Robotics, check out the ꦰ(fake)  to learn about its role in building "hundreds of advanced spaceborne and mechanized defense solutions."

Throughout the commercial, scenes flicker, projecting the aura𝕴 that things aren’t as safe and secure as Hammond would like you to believe. Superimposed images show a very different Capitol City, which is split into two sections with lava flowing through it.

The commercial teases a weapon rack, which is a new feature in the game. For the time being, it seems a new point of interest called Survey Camp will be the only place with weapon racks. They're meant to make it attractive to drop at an otherwise quiet landing area, , the Design Director on Apex Legends.

It also shows a quick flash of a MRVN billboard. This is interesting because Hammond Robotics created such robots. The image seems to reinforce the idea that MRVNs like Pathfinder are designed to be eternally optimistic,♛ despite the truth of the circumstances.

Pathfinder's core desire is to find his creator — and it seems this creator is part of the𓆉 Hammond family.

An astute viewer will find new ✨skins for many different characters throughout the commercial. We'll discuss ✤these in more detail in a following section.

The commercial goes on to make note of the f✤act that the Hammond Robotics Planet Harvester as "an advanced production in energy development and distribution." But here's where the illusion shatters.

The commercial concludes by once again showing t✱he Hammond Robotics logo, but this time, it's obscured by interference from a red Hammond Robotics logo on a black background.

Jekyll and Hyde

There's then a whisper that leads into a song. "Jek☂yll-and-Hyde-ing me," the raspy voice says as the trailer continues before the beat picks up. The song itself is a metaphor for a number of things in the trailer, not least of which is Revenant himself.

Revenant's voice booms over. He’s here to "change the game▨."

As he drops in, it's clear that familiar landscapes have u🌠ndergone significant changes. Areas once vibrant with blues and greens are now immersed in brownish-orange hues, much like Kings Canyon.

The💧se thematic Battle Pass skins are intriguing as they play into the Jekyll-and-Hyde aspect of the trailer. Skins sometimes connote a nod to the game's lore, such as the Wraith Voidwalker skin. While it may be a stretch, it's possible that the two-faced theme may end up with Lifeline, Wraith and Wattson usurped by darkness.

The trailer als🌟o shows several other skins. Nearly all of the legends appear to have fresh𓆉 looks.

Several new gu𝄹n skins appear throughout the 🥃trailer as well.

Revenant's Abilities

The trailer also shows off Revenant’s totem, once again reflecting this Jekyll-and-Hyde theme that shows players in two different physical states. Players who go near it morph into shadow ver🍸sions of themselves. This is similar to what players saw during Halloween’s Fright or Flight event, which may have secretly bee🐭n a test event for the shadow ability.

If predictions are correct, char✤acters that die in their shadow states respawn at the totem.

Another image shows Revenant climbing a wall, meaning it’s likely this character can climb much higher than the other characters. This was also a feature of t🌟he shadow state in Fright or Fligꦚht.

Just after the trailer introduces the totem, Reওvenant shoots some kind of grenade out of his arm. From the gameplay video alone, it’s hard to tell how, exactly, this will work. However, it appears his grenade tactical ability may have some kind of arc or stun charge, which manifests as the orange glowing ball in the image below.

This scene also shows the double-tap trigger hop-up is still around in Season♕ 4. Another quick scene elsewhere in the trailer shows it will also remain in use on the G-7 Scout.

The trailer also shows Rev♒enant's brutal finisher.

A New Weapon and More Insight on Locations

At the new incarnation of Geyser, which looks far more desolate than before, Revenant shows off the new bolt-action sniper rifle. Called the Sentinel, it purportedly has some type of charge mechanic, though it will be hard to ℱunderstand how it differs from a weapon such as the Charge Rifle until players can test it on their own.

Regarding map location updates, we know from McCord and from the aforementioned images that the Planet Harvester is a ne𒐪w area. We also know Capitol City is split.

The split, which is filled witꦗh lava, results in an updraft mechanic. This briefly appears earlier in the trailer and is shown below.

The trailer also provides a glimpse of what is likely 🐲🔯the new Survey Camp area.

Caustic's Role in Season 4

Finally, it's worth noting that the end scen🔜e features Caustic punching a downed player. (Yes, that's Revenant in an extremely creepy ski🍌n next to him.)

It's not unusual for Respawn and Electronic Arts to put subtle teasers into their trailers. A from the official Apex Legends Twitter account showed corresp෴ondence that alluded to the fact that Caustic was becoming soft. One hypothesis ♔is that this sets up a Caustic Town Takeover on Worlds Edge this season, similar to past takeovers for Wraith, Octane and Mirage.

Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation starts on Feb. 4.
