Imagine lining up the perfect shot with your sniper rifle, 300m out. You pull the trigger, see the blood splatter, and you KNOW it was a perfect shot...but your target took no damage. That's what Apex Legends players have been dealing with all꧋ week, and it's absolutely maddening.
It's not just sniper rifles either, in fact, every gun in Apex is currently behaving this way. The phenomenon is known as no-hit-reg, short for no-hit-register, or ghost bullets. Typically no-hit-reg is a network issue where the game is determining that your bullet missed on the server side while on the client-side (you) it appears that it hit. While it's always been a bit of an issue in Apex, with the start ꧒of Season 5 this week, it has become a major problem.
Reddit is filled with clips and comments about the ghost bul🥃let issue. Players still get the sound and the visual indication that their shot landed (blood splatter) but the damage markers don't appear, meaning that the target took no damage.
For the casual player, it's a pretty frustrating occurrence t🍸hat quite often can be the difference between w🅠inning and losing. From a competitive sense, it completely compromises the integrity of the game.
Respawn is certainly aware of the issue at this point, so hopefully, it's something that can address by 🀅next Tuesday's update. In the meantꦰime, play the odds and stick with an automatic weapon.
