Caustic Town Takeover
Kings Canyon’s Water Treatment was underappreciated, so it makes sense that Caustic has gone in to overha✱ul the place. Now Water Treatment is hಌome to toxic gas and fumes - Caustic can say it’s there to stop chemicals from the recent ship crash from flooding into the ocean, but he’s never struck me as the type that cares.
Players that investigate the new Water Treatment will be able to empty the gas and toxic waste f🌄rom the building, revealing hidden golden loot. Ver🌞y helpful in the fight ahead, but it may become a deadly battleground.
Ring Fury Escalation Takeover
Maggie,🐼 Fuse’s former friend, current rival, is back and causing more havoc with the Apex Games. This time, instead of blowing the place up, she’s launch the Ring Fury Escalation Event. What happens here is that small pockets of “the ring” will pop up all over the map, and will 🐓continually expand, meaning that your movements will have to be much more erratic than usual when navigating the landscape.
But in addition to that, this is a new type of takeover. Yes, “Escalation” means exactly what you think it should, and over the course of the event the Ring Fury will become even more, um, furious. Over the course of the event the rings will appear more often, and expand even more quickly, so if you want a relaxed version of this even♛t you should log in early.
Heat Shields And Survival Slot
To offset the damage the new mini-rings will be causing to everyone on the map, a new iℱtem has finally been released. This item was offhandedly mentioned in a Respawn press release at the beginning of the season, but was never elaborated on, so I’m glad to see it’s finally in the game. The Heat Shields are not body shields as I assumed they were from the title, but instead they are essentially ring deflectors. They act a bit like Gibraltar’s dome shield, however they keep the ring out, not bullets, giving you a chance to heal up and revive your team if you get caught in the ring, running for your life.
In addition to that is the new Survival Slo🍃t. This new bag slot gives you a permanent place to keep a Mobile Respa𒉰wn Beacon, or a Heat Shield, meaning there’s no reason for at least one member of your team not to have one. This should mean that both of these items see a lot of use in the future, and I welcome this change.
No-Fill Matchmaking - You Can Now Play Solo
This has been a standard part of other battle royale games for a long time, so I’m happy to see it finally come to Apex Legends. Usually when you try to 𒈔join a game solo and you don’t get any teammates, it’s a nightmare, but now you can choose to do t🌱hat on purpose. If you want to see if you and a friend can win a Trios game as just a pair, or if you want to take on a whole lobby by yourself, now you can.
Chaos Theory Collection Event Rewards And Bangalore Heirloom
The Chaos Theory Collection Event has begun, and if you’re an experienced Apex Legends player you know exactly what that means. There are loads of unique skins ❀for legends and weapon alike available to trade your Apex Coins for, and if you buy them all, you get the Bangalore heirloom. Heirlooms are rare so this is a nice offer, but hardly the most essential. If you’re a new player and tempted to invest in Apex Legends, you’re better off looking at buying the battle pass.
The Important Legend Balance Changes
As always, there are plenty of balance changes for the cast of legends, so here are the most important adj🍒ustments.
Caustic
- Ultimate cooldown increased from 2.5 minutes to 3.5 minutes.
- Gas now damages at a flat rate of 5HP per tick.
This pair of changes make Caustic a fair bit less effective, but you can still u📖se him to win, as we lay out in our complete guide.
Pathfinder
Pathfinder has had the Low Profile ability rem✃oved, meaning he no longer takes 5% more damage than other legends. Good, because his hitbox is too large to be low p⛄rofile.
Gibraltar
- Dome shield no longer increases heal item usage by 15%.
This is a massive shame, as thi🦂s was one of the best parts of the dome shield.
Wattson
Wattson now has a passive shield regen𒆙 - her shields will constantly recover at a rate of 0.5HP per second, which is half the speed that Octane’s health recovers at.
Rampart
Rampart’s walls and mounted gun no longer take ext🧸ra damage from explosi𒁃ves, meaning you can feel more secure when you set up a base.
The Important Weapon Balance Changes
Mastiff
The Mastiff is having pellet damage decreased from 13 to 🍌11, and fire rate increased from 1.0 to 1.1. This is a slight nerf, but not one the average player should notice. Makes sense, as it has consistently been the best shotgun in the game for a while.
Wingman
The Wingman get🐲s an extra bullet in the chamber for every magazine.
Hemlok
⛎Hemlok gets increased hip♚-fire spread, so you should try to avoid shooting it from the hip at close range.
QOL Adjustments And Bug Fixes
There are loads of minor Quality of Life changes and buꦚ🔯g fixes in this update. If you want to see them all make sure to , but for the highlights just look below.
- The loot across Kings Canyon has been increased in the amount and the quality - thank you Respawn - since it has been lacking in comparison with the other maps for a while now.
- Weapons with locked attachments will now allow you to remove and replace the optics - this does not apply to the Kraber.
- You can now ping your deathbox when respawning so you can easily find your loot.
- Players being revived with the gold backpack will have energy crackle around them during the revive, indicating to enemies that they should be targeted and finished off.
- PC players can now change data centers without restarting the game - wow!
- The Survival Slot has taken up the Inspect Weapon button, and the Inspect Weapon button can now be found on the emote wheel.
