Arcane’s second and final season is coming to Netflix from Fortiche Production this November, and as part of Geeked Week, we have a brand-new trailer 🌼to sink our tee♏th into. It’s our best look at the season yet, which so far has been communicated through a handful of screenshots, brief teasers, and a ravenous fandom ready and willing to lick up every single crumb.
🌳We’ve pored over the entire thing frame by💟 frame to bring you a selection of observations, new information, and a load of predictions that are likely to turn out very, very wrong. So, let’s dive in!
A Time Skip Is Looking More And More Likely
The trailer begins by revisiting the final scenes of the first season in which Caitlyn and Vi escape from Jinx’s c💦lutches just as she launches a missile into the Piltover counci🦋l. While none of the aftermath is featured in the trailer, is it clear this moment will have devastating consequences on the unfolding narrative.
Major players in the two cities are likely to no longer be a f🦄actor, creating the power vacuum that will solidify Jinx as a potential leader f💝or Zaun’s uprising. We move about in time as the trailer continues, flashing back and forth between different events which show many of the characters looking older, more worn, and like they’ve been through hell.
Unfortunately, the embargoed trailer was watermarked so we can’t show specific screenshots of the trailer here, but we do have🅰 a bunch of official images peppered throughout.
Considering how much ground the second season will need to cover as it wraps things up, I wouldn’t be surprised 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:if it leaves a few things unexplained so it can get to the point.
Powder Is Temporary, Jinx Is Forever
Powder is a name that Jinx left behind a long time aꦕgo, but it was blatant throughout the first season that Vi truly believed she could bring h🐟er sister back from the brink. But after so much turmoil, the older sister accepted that it just might not be possible. It doesn’t help that Caitlyn and a large portion of Piltover want her dead, and as an enforcer, Vi has little choice but to follow in her totally-not-girlfriend’s footsteps.
Sevika is seen describing topside as the ‘re🐽al problem’ and that Jinx is the perfect symbol to unite the undercity against their oppressors. With Silco seemingly dead, her bright blue hair and love of explosions is an eccentric and passionate means to unite an entire class of people.
I imagine there will still be a handful of conflicted scenes between Vi and Jinx as they tackle their inner demons, trying to find a way to reunite so they can forgive each other and stop hurting all the people around them. But Arcane seems determined to capitalise on its own tragᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚedy.
Piltover And Zaun Are Going To War
One thing I love about the Piltover and Zaun conflict in Arcane is that there is no good ൲or evil. You might disagree with the motivations of certain players, or turn your nose up at the unfair distribution of power, but, in most cases, there are decent and misunderstood people on both sides. But in order to enact change, sometimes revolution is needed. A violent one.
What makes this conflict especiall♏y tragic is that Jayce was moments away from granting Zaun independence before Jinx fired a missile directly into the council chamber.
Silco is dead, and so Jinx becomes the symbol for people to follow. The trailer features a scene in which explosions are detonated across Piltover, covering the streets in shrouds of coloured smoke that allows Zaun to seemingly infiltrate and take over. Jinx wants to watch it all burn✱, believing that there is nothing worth saving when so much has been taken from her. It’s obvious she’s being taken advantage of, and no doubt some nefarious powers linger in✨ the background waiting to strike.
We Have Another Hostage Situation On Our Hands
They always say history is doomed to repeat itself, and Arcane is no exception. Caitlyn can be spotted being taken hostage by Jinx in the trailer as she dons a hood and seemingly sits at the wheel of a ship, taunting Caitlyn to stop her if she actually has the power to do so. It is followed immediately by Vi angrily zooming across a hoverboard with Ekko in tow, and perhaps is hinting towards both a rescue operation to save Caitlyn. I also love her look her. In fact, all of the outfits in the ♚trailer go incredi𓃲bly hard.
One thing I did notice here was the rough nature of Vi’s outfit and her darkened hair, me💮aning that perhaps she is asked to emerge from Zaun’s underworld to rescue Caitlyn because she’s the only one who can help. We know there is a period this season where she runs away and becomes a bare-knuckle brawler, so it totally makes sense.
Warwick Is Here
Vande🌊r returning as Warwick has been a long-standing fan theory for months now, and this trailer confirms that he will indeed be revived as a ravenous creature of the night. We catch him escaping confinement and clawing through legions🅺 of guards, while Vi also faces him down in a blink and you’ll miss it shot.
My biggest question is whether confronting Vander in this new form is going to bring Vi and Jinx closer together or push them further apart. How much of a role he will play in the narrative is ultimately unclear, and I bet that's on purpose.
Where On Earth Are Jayce And Viktor?
Jayce and Viktor both played major roles in the first s💖eason as parts of the Piltover council and a scientific prodigy working quietly from the shadows. Viktor successfully heals himself with the Hexcore in the final episode, but asks Jayce to destroy it in fear of the power it most certainly holds.
The consequences of that, and the wider-reaching role of Shimmer, is bound to play a significant role in the second season’s events, and I bet these two are being kept out of promoꦯtional materials for a very good reason. Sp🐲eaking of...
The Arcane Is Waking Up
Towards the end of the trailer, things start to get a little supernaജtural. I’m no expert when it comes to League of Legends lore, but it seems the ‘Arcane’ is a dimensional, god-like force or entity that has the power to do incredible things.
Maybe it will reshape the universe, open gateways to new dimensions, or destroy everything in its path. There is no way to know, but my money is on Viktor’s absence in the trailer having something to do with this.
Silco Is Still Alive And Other Potential Shenanigans
You’ll notice a handful of lightning-fast shots towards the end of the trailer, ranging from an ethereal hand holding out a spider-like orb, likely the Arcane deity I mentioned just seconds ago, a young child - possibly Powder - being carried away by an ﷽unknown face, a🃏nd Caitlyn being held by the throat by a suited up Sevika.
Finally, there is a hand clutching what appears to be a walking stick with a blue ge🤡m planted into their wrist, who Iཧ bet is Viktor. He then peers up to a shadowy figure with piercing yellow eyes who looks kinda like Silco. Maybe I’m reading into things too much, or maybe Arcane is keeping more cards close to its chest than we think.
There are probably plenty of things I missed or didn’t touch on from the trailer, and will no doubt be writing about them in the weeks and months to come💖. Either way, I can’t wait.
