Many of the quests in New World seem like they've been deliberately designed to encourage you to travel long(ish) distances by foot, likely to get you to engage with the world, collect resources on your way, and take part in some of the open-world flagged PVP.
Fast Travel costs Azoth, an in-game currency that is earned by completing quests and defeating certain types of mobs. Vials of Azoth can also be earned by completing Expeditions.
Will There Ever Be Mounts In New World?
There have been all sorts of rumors aboutﷺ whether or not Mounts will be added to New World.
However, in , New World's game director Scot Lane, had this to say on the matter: "I think right now our world isn't of the size that warrants mounts. When we do get there with the live game, that's gonna happen at some point, we'll add mounts when we feel players will benefit from them and we can do them in a really cool way that works for us."
Seeing as the top half of the map is shrouded in a yellow fog that instantly kills you if you walk through it, it's clear that the island of Aeternum is designed to be larger than it currently is.
Mounts will not be available with the game's launch, but you'll be happy to hear that the devs are considering it later on down the path. We're imagining something like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Black Desert Online's Mount system, where players can breed horses, create armor for them, and have a trade skill related to selling Mounts. That'd be pretty neat.
