Ark: Survival 🧔Ascended - How To🍸 Level Up Fast
Leveli🐭ng up in Ark: Survival Ascended gives you access to new Engrams. Here, you can learn to level up quickly.
But be warned: this majestic bird isn't your typical early-game tame. The Argentavis is aggressive, flighty, and more than capable of turning unprepared taming attempts deadly or leading you into dangerous situations. This article will discuss the best methods for taming this feathered giant, including a cheap and simple foolproof trap made with early-game materials.
What Is The Argentavis Good For?
The Argentavis is not as fast as the Pteranodon, and cannot carry as much as a Quetzal. However, its strengths lay firmly between the two mediums, making it a versatile powerhouse.
It has much more health, damage, stamina and carry weight than the Pteranodon, but is smaller and much more easily navigable than the Quetzal.
Its flexibility, as such, makes it a highly sought-after tame for many players, and it will likely be your main flyer for much of the mid to end game.
- All-rounder: One Argentavis, even at a lower level, can multitask from hunting to scouting to transporting, with many more functions in between. For optimal use of your Argentavis, however, you should tame or breed several and add their stats depending on their role specialization.
- Combatant: With remarkable damage and agility, the Argentavis can be used for battle even against creatures stronger than it. Its Rapid Regeneration ability enhances its survivability in skirmishes as well. Its various tactics fit diverse combat situations, especially when it's leveled up and properly “statted” for combat. However, a single Argentavis will generally pale in combat when compared to large carnivores like the Rex, and you should be careful when starting fights with them.
- Carrier / Mining Partner: For long distances, the Argentavis’ carrying capacity is significant, especially given its weight reductions when it comes to common materials like metal and stone. On that note, it can also carry Ankylosauruses to automatically harvest and bring home metal ore from dangerous areas such as the volcano.
- Scout: While not the fastest flying mount, its stamina ensures that it can fly for a long time without needing to land—this is especially helpful when traversing dangerous areas up north, where you really don’t want to frequently land on the ground.
- Taming Assistant: An Argent can safely transport and tame various creatures, picking up creatures as big as an Ankylosaurus. It can endure damage from aggressive, smaller creatures and hold them in place while it’s being tranquilized.
Where To Find An Argentavis
The Argentavis can often be found in mountainous and snowy areas to the north of the Island map. They can often be found circling the peak of the mountainsꦬ, espec💧ially around the volcano and snow mountains.
More often than not, the challenge of obtaining an Argentavis comes from its environmental hazards: steep cliffs and extreme temperatures made all the more dangerous by the large predators that roam around in the mountainous areas.
How To Tame Argentavis
The Argentavis can only be tamed via the knock-out method. This means that you’ll need to kno💦ck it unconscious, then feed it its favorite food.
The Argentavis prefers the following foods, in order of preference.
- Superior Kibble
- Raw Mutton
- Raw Prime Meat
- Raw Prime Fish Meat
- Raw Meat
- Raw Fish
The Argentavis will eat cooked counterparts of each meat mentioned above, but will nꦛot like it as mucജh as raw meat. To maximize Taming Effectiveness, stick with the raw stuff!
It is aggressive and will chase after you if you get too close to it, but will attempt to run away 🥃when its torpor is near maximum levels. While a single Argentavis isn’t too big of a threat, it can still ki꧟ll an unmounted player with a few attacks.
Unfortunately, the Argentavis is too big to be bola’ed, and so you’ll nee༒d to use good positioning or traps to guarantee a tame.
Knockout Strategy
The process of taming an Argentavis is relatively straightforward: lure your desired Argentavis to a safe area, then shoot it until it passes out.
You can do this 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:with a Pteranodon, which is a far easier tame, and leading it down to the ground. We recommend having either a Crossbow armed with Tranq Arrows, or a Longneck Rifle with Tranq Darts before attempting this.
As it swoops in, aim, shoot, and sidestep to dodge out of its attack. Usually, the Argentavis will try to looꦆp around for another predictable attack.
Once its torpor gets close to knocking it unconscious, the Argentavis will try to flee. This means that it will only take a few more shots to take it down; p🦂ursue it on foot or on a faster mount, and shoot it 🍬a few more times with Tranqs to bring it down.
Lay on the ground while shooting the Argentavis, and it will have a more difficult time hitting you, especially if there🐲 are rocks or other environmental obsta☂cles nearby.
Argentavis Trap Design
Due to its predictable𒀰 AI and aggressꦏion, the Argentavis is easy to trap.
As with most traps, you’ll just need to create a small enclosure using openings that the Argentavis is too large to exit from, lead it in, and quickly close off the entrance.
The following video demonstrates how to craft a single trap with stone double-doorway walls and a sloped ceiling.
Note that the Argentavis can damage wooden buildings, and so stoಌne is the best material to create this trap o🎃ut of.
