Arkham Actor Says Damian Wayne Batman Game Was Cancelled Due To Leaks

Updated at 15:59 GMT, 23/01/2024: Bloomberg reporter claims that WB Montréal did not cancel the Damian Wayne game because of the leaks.

Years ago, concept art for a Damian Wayne Batman game leaked, showing off villains like Two-Face and Black Mask, his new suit with a revamped red logo, and a Batbike. It was being developed by Arkham Origins studio WB Games Montréal, the same team that went on to make 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gotham Knights, but according to actor Josh Keaton, "The꧋ leaks killed the project&q🐻uot;.

Keaton, who played Robin in Arkham Origins, was set to star in the lead role of Damian Wayne's Batman, AKA Bruce's son taking up the mantle. As reported by , he recorded a few lines in the booth, but was later told the game had been scrapped.

I would love to get a shot at Batman, I almost did. There was a game that I was going to be a part of that I was going to play Batman [in]. It wasn't going to be Bruce Wayne Batman, it was going to be a different Batman.

It was developed under the name Project Sabbath, so we don't know what it would've been called if it had been released, but we do know that it wasn't a continuation of Arkham Origins or Knight. For one, Keaton played Time Drake in Origins, whereas in Sabbath, he played Damian Wayne, a completely different Robin. To boot, Black Mask is a woman in the concept art. Keaton also said during a live stream that the game was separate from the Arkhamverse, much like how Gotham Knights ended up being. Despite the rampant speculation, this was never going to be a sequel.

The concept art didn't just show Damian Wayne's Batman. There was also a gruff, older Bruce Wayne with a shaggy grey beard and a costume reminiscent of Ben Affleck's. After the concept art leaked, many assumed that this was the same Bruce from Arkham after having faked his death, jumping ahead a few years. The assumption was that it would be a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:God of War-like passing of the maಌntle, setting up future Arkham games with Damian at the helm.

In the end, it was just a different take on Batman, as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Suicide Squad: Kill the J꧙ustice League ended up being the game to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:continue Bruce's story from Arkham by having him join the Justice League.

The leaked concept art also showed us an older 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Tim Drake, though not in costume. Instead, he had a plain pair of jeans, a black top, and a grey jacket. Given that Bruce's son had graduated from Robin to Batman, it's likely that Drake was Nightwing in this universe.

It's possible that elements were recycled into Gotham Knights, but Warner Bros. hasn't revealed the game publicly, so the little information we do have is mostly without context.
