168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Armored Core 6 has some challenging bosses. That is most certainly a fact. However, AAP07: BALTEUS (or Balteus for short) is the first fight where things get real. Balteus is the dreaded FromSoftware skill check boss. Balteus is more than capable of shredding most ACs in an attack or two. They are extremely mobile, they can fight you at any range effectively, are comfortable fighting you in the air, has a pulse shield that needs to be broken before they can be damaged, and have a second form where they crank up the heat. Le GASP!

We will take you through ideas on how to build your AC as well as walk you through each of Balteus' attacks. Worry not, we'll give you everything you need to scrap this metallic monstrosity!

AC Build

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, AC build

To know how to build for Balteus we need to clarify a few things. First of all, Balteus has a number of attacks that are far less effective when firing on aerial opponents. Secondly, when they aren't using their Missile Barrage attack, Balteus is extremely good at taking advantage of momentary pauses (such as the recovery and startup of a heavy꧙ weapon).

So, what we need is an AC that can spend a lot of time in the air and doesn't rely heavily on weapons that cause them to halt their momentum. For the legs, we are going to recommend that you use a pair of Reverse-Joints. While the Tetrapod legs are much better at staying airborne, their weight makes dodging less effective, and this is a battle that will necessitate a number of panic dodges.

We hate having to go back to it again, but we really strongly recommend that you have a Vvc-760PR Plasma Rifle. First of all, this rifle hits hard while allowing you to dodge around the arena nimbly. That is already huge, but even better, it does very solid damage to Balteus, when they aren't staggered! You can win this battlꦆe without the Vvc-760PR, but we think you are making your life harder.

Don't charge the Vvc-760PR Plasma Rifle. You want to use the standard shot! The charged shot will cause you to pause for a moment on firing it, which is exactly what you don't want in this fight.

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Slashing Balteus with the Pulse Blade

As for your other weapons, you want your shoulders to be lined with homing missile launchers. This is a big part of your ACS damage, so you will want to make sure you are choosing missiles that favor impact. Lastly, and we suspect this is a little more controversial, but we think the Pulse Blade works well in this fight. After dodging a Missile Barrage attack, Balteus will be open for a Pulse Blade attack. However, you need to pick your shots well, and you need to be comfortable being able to land an Assault Burst Pulse Blade slash (which is a matter of spacing).

An easier-to-use option would be a second Plasma Rifle. Alternatively, you can use a heavy-hitting weapon like a Bazooka, just make sure you only use it when Balteus is stag🐼gered or is using one of their attacks with a slow startup (like their Missile Barrage attack).

AAP07: Balteus's Attacks

Missile Barrage

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Quick Dashing past the missiles

Balteus likes to fire off clusters of missiles. This attack will come in multiple forms. Sometimes, Balteus will send out a vertical column, other times it will be a pincer wave that attacks you from both sides. Sometimes they will fire a missile in every direction that will pause mid-air before homing in on your. You can get some distance, and dash to the side at the last moment, as the missiles converge in a (relatively) straight line. This approach will work, but we often found that the timing led to us getting clipped during the encounter. Which is a major problem, as eating the full barrage can take the lion's share of your AP.

Instead, we found that using the Assault Burst and barreling toward Balteus as the missiles descended upon us was a far more reliable strategy. As you are bursting toward Balteus, make sure to move left and right to throw off the missiles. You may collide with a few stray missiles here and there with this method, but it is the most repeatable way to avoid taking hefty damage.

Machine Gun Burst

This is one of the many attacks Balteus will use in the mid-range. It isn't anything particularly special, but it is quick, and if you are caught standing still, it will hit you.

Rocket Cluster

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Balteus' Firing Missiles

Unlike the giant missile barrage at꧑tack, this is just a small cluster of rockets. They have a fairly weak homing ability, so they will be easily defeated by strafing to the side. They are primarily used to keep you on your toes in the mid-range.

Shotgun Blast

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Dodging Balteus' shotgun blast

If you get too close to Balteus, they will fire a shotgun at you. Like most shotguns this does good damage and hits for a lot of impact. You will be in danger of going into overload if you are hit consecutive times. However, it struggles to hit you with this attack while you are strafing, so m🎀ake sure to stay mobile w🌃hen up close. Taking to the air is also a great solution here.

If you are being tagged by the shotgun as you strafe, your AC is probably too🎉 ꧒heavy.

Shoulder Cannon

When Balteus ascends into the air, they are likely going to fire their shoulder cannon at you. This attack deals a ton of damage and is strikingly fast. Listen for the alert, and dash the second you hear the beeping. You will also see a rectangular aiming reticle appear flashing over Balteus' shoulder. If you are stunned by Balteus' shotgun blasts, they will often finish you off with this attack. At which point, you can say goodnight.

Giant Energy Pulse

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Balteus' Pulse burst

This will happen once every round. It is a massive explosion that will damage anything even vaguely close to Balteus. This will also regenerate their energy shield. Once you are getting Balteus to around half of their total AP, hang back a little more. This does massive damage, so you don't want to get tagged by it.

Flaming Sword Attack

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Dying to the flame slash

This is probably going to be the attack that sends a shiver down your spine. This attack changes depending on where you are when Balteus performs them. If you are on the ground, then this attack will hit all around Balteus, if you are in the air, they will take giant, horizontal slash up at you, before coming down with another giant horizontal slash. The answer for dealing with these slashes when you are grounded is to ascend. If they are using the aerial slashes, you will want to cut your burst engines and fall to the ground when Balteus is above you. Which will typically lead to the sword passing over you.

Flamethrower Attack

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Balteus' Flame Thrower attack setting everything on fire

This attack is really more of an opportunity. Balteus will fly up, charge their flamethrowers, and then fire down on you, but this means that you can simply fly directly upward, leaving Balteus a sitting duck. This is a great opportunity to hit them with💞 all your ranged weapons.

Flaming Scissors

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Balteus' Flaming Scissors Attack

When Balteus ignites both of their flamethrowers, and holds them out to their side, they are going to bring them together with you in the middle. They will perform this attack while they are in the air. If you ascend while flying away from them, Balteus will miss you completely.

AAP07: Balteus Strategy

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Assault Dashing past the missiles

For starters, Balteus is going to start this battle by unloading a giant Missile Barrage on you. Since this attack takes a while to get going, you will have time to unload your weapons on them. Once the missiles start coming, Assault Burst straight at Balteus. If you are using a Pulse Blade, you will want to end your burst with a big ol' slash. Balteus won't take any damage until you get rid of that Pulse Shield, so your strategy should be to stay in the mid-range jumping into the air while strafing around them. You want to constantly be hopping up into the air, this will help you avoid so many attacks. It will also be easier to hit Balte💫us with your Plasma Rifle when you are above them.

Keep locking on with your missiles and strafing. Keep hopping and tagging them with your Plasma Rifle. Whenever Balteus sends out another Missile Barrage, hit them with your most powerful weapons during the beginning of the animation, then Assault Boost in to avoid the missiles. After that, ascend while flying away. We aren't going to spend much time up close, as Balteus is dangerous there.

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Vertical Flaming Slash

If you hold to this strategy, you will eventually get them to half of their health, this means that the giant energy pulse is coming! Do not be close to Balteus when they are around half health! Now, this is also when they will start using their fire-based attacks. While these are extremely scary at first, this is actually a good thing, as a number of these attacks will leave Balteus vuln🍒erable.

First and foremost, if Balteus is doing something involving fire: jump! This will get you around most of their fire-based attacks. If they are using the Flame Thrower attack, where they hover in the air and ignite the ground, unload on them with your weapons while in the air. They won't be able to do anything about that. The same principle applies for the attack where Balteus scissors the blades together🌜, though the timing is a little ꧂tighter on this one.

Armored Core 6, Balteus Boss Guide, Upward Flaming Slash

Their hardest-to-dodge attack will be those giant, flaming vertical slashes. We won't lie, there is some feel and finesse involved in completely dodging them. The first one is usually easily enough avoided by taking to the air, but the follow-up slash is definitely tricker. Fall to avoid it, while angling to toward the direction the blade is coming from. You are tryi👍ng to duck under the blade. Sometimes, if you are super close, you can pass right over Balteus. Once again, you are going to h🌃ave to feel some of these situations out.

Otherwise, your hopping while strafing method will remain relatively unchanged. Eventually, Balteus will fall.
