Some time ago, Insidꦑer Gaming reported that Ubisoft was working on a remake of Assassin's Creed 4: Black🅺 Flag codenamed Obsidian. That rumour was backed up by several sites and insiders, and we've heard a few updates about it since initially being leaked. ༒With Shadows only just launching and having suffered several delays, it's left a lot of questions about t💙he state and plans for the rumoured remake.

I checked it out myself and Black Flag is indeeꦉd still showing as "Announced" on the PlayStation Store, at least through using the mobile app.

It's not really clear why Black Flag has been given this tag, but it seems likely that it's accidentally been done through the PlayStation Store's backend. While it could just be a complete mistake and not mean anything, it is especially interesting considering all of the rumours that have alr💜eady been going around abou♒t Black Flag getting remade.

As for when we might actually see the project get announced, the most likely bet is during Ubisoft Connect this Summer. Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson recꩵently suggested that Black Flag 🦋was slated for release this year but might have been mov൩ed due to Shadows' delay, but we won't know for sure until it's officially revealed.
