Summary

  • Assassin's Creed fans are starting to get a little sick of the "non-linear" story structure seen in games like Shadows.
  • Fans are arguing that the story "suffers incredibly greatly" by being let off the leash too much, and wish that Ubisoft would start writing "linearly progressing main stories".
  • A lot of fans also point to Assassin's Creed Origins as a good example, which had a main story and worked assassinations in naturally.

When it comes to the typical Ubisoft open world, most of us know what we're getting. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:We'll be thrown into a big open world, given a list of objectives to tick off a big list, and told to "go get'em tiꦉger". It's♏ a level of freedom that can be quite refreshing if all you want to do is run around, clear bandit camps, and stab bad guys, but it's not really an environment that lends itself well to compelling storytelling.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Assassin's Creed Shadows players have been finding this out over the past month, with the game falling into the very familiar trappings of a Ubisoft open world. Unfortunately for Ubisoft, there are quite a lot of people out t🦄here these days that are starting to get a little bitꦚ sick of all the "player freedom", .

Assassin's Creed Fans Want More Linear Stories After Shadows

In a new post that has racked up quite a lot of support, one user says th꧙at they wer▨e disappointed when the story of Assassin's Creed Shadows "stalled" when they got through the opening. Due to being allowed to do whatever they please, this user claims characters "cannot grow or learn anything meaningful along the way", and that modern games lack the iconic moments from older games.

It's an opinion that seems to have rallied a lot of other fans, such as SadKazoo, who ꦛthinks that the game's writing and story "suffers so incredibly" due to being unable to reference past events, and wishes Ubisoftღ would just make an Assassin's Creed game with a "linearly progressing main story".

A lot of people also seem to wish that Ubisoft would go back to the structure that Assassin's Creed Origins adopted. A user called NoNefariousness2144 says they enjoyed that Origins allowed you to tackle targets in whatever order you pleased, but stuck main missions in the game between sets. It's clear there's a bit of rot in the Assassin's Creed formula right now, 168澳洲幸运5开ꦯ奖网:so let's𝔍 hope Hexe shakes things up a bit.
