However, the upper parts of the House of Wisdom are restricted, and if you are spotted exploring up there you will be ruthlessly attacked. Rude. Naturally, this is where that enticing treasure chest is hidden. Double rude. Unfortunately, getting access to that chest isn't cut and dry. In fact, it is downright puzzling. Thankfully, we're here to clear the air and help you claim that treasure!
House Of Wisdom Gear Chest
Approach the House of Wisdom from the Northeast side. You are allowed to be on the ground floor, so don't worry about being conspicuous. Before you do anything, summon Enkidu. That way you can mark all the guards wandering around on the roof, and get a marker on the man with the key—you'll need that later.
Start climbing the building, and head up to the roof. Once you are on the roof, you'll notice that there are a very healthy number of planter boxes providing a wealth of shrubs to conceal yourself in. Take to them, lure guards over with a whistle, and then take them out.
Before you pursue the chest, make sure to grab the key. It is possessed by a civilian sitting on the roof of the building (you should have already marked them with Enkidu), in the northeast section of the House Of Wisdom. Head toward them, but watch out, there will be a Horn Bearer near a group of three Swordsmen on your route to the man with the key. Make sure to take them out efficiently.
Once you have worked your way to the northeast side of the roof, climb the steps and sneak up on the civilian. Pick🧜pocket them, ꦡthen head for the northeast end of the compound.
If you fail the pickpocket attempt, you will need to run away, hide, and then wait for things to calm down and for him to return to his normal activity. Get out of eyesight and hide in a bush until everyone is no longer on high alert. Of course, if you methodically murder every guard on the roof before attempting to pickpocket the man with the key, this will be less of a problem.
Once you have the key, and you are at the northeast end, don't enter the room with the lock yet. Instead, head to the roof. You will see that up top there are three windows. One of them has MUCH larger gaps in between the window's bars. You should be able to see a crude chandelier inside. Take out your knives and aim for the hinge holding the chandelier. Once it comes🌸 crashing down, some jars of oil will ignite and explode.
If you are all out of throwing knives there is a resupply chest on the southwest corner of t🅘he roof. There is typically only one or two guards in this area, so it is easy enough to get to.
Once you have obtained the key and downed the chandelier, all you need to do is enter the room on the northwest end of the roof, open the gate, climb to the second floor, then climb through the hole you made when you dropped that chandelier. You can now open the chest and either obtain the Abbasid Knight💧 Sword, or the schematics to improve it (if you have already 🎉aquired the sword).
