Earlier this week, we were given our first good look at 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Assassin's Creed Mirage, as Ubisoft showed off a range of Basim's abilities in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a gameplay demonstration during this month's Ubisoft Forward Showcase. For the most part, fans liked what they saw, as Eagle Vision, parkour, and gadgets such as throwing knives and smoke bombs are making their return.

However, there was one part of the demo that fans are a little divided on, and that's Basim's fancy chain assassination ability that makes him look like he's teleporting across short distances. During this part, we see Basim perched above three guards, as he then then proceeds to mark and assassinate them all in no time flat, seemingly bending space and time to teleport between each one.

The debate was kicked off by u/SadeqWasTaken on the Assassin's Creed subreddit (thanks ), who was confused as to why Basim could teleport everywhere despite him not having any magical abilities. They were quickly told that the official explanation is that it's actually Animus shenanigans, as Basim is moving too quickly for the Animus to keep up with him, but that hasn't satisfied those who were hoping for a more grounded experience.

In a different, much spicier, post, there are people like u/riverkarma69420 who think the ability "feels like a cheese", and it would've been more interesting to see the situation play out without the power, while u/anNPC thinks that it "defeats most of the reason for parkour and positioning in the first place." It seems like it's an optional ability, but that's still enough for some diehard Assassin's Creed fans to feel like Mirage won't be the realistic experience they were expecting.

Then you have those that don't mind its inclusion, pointing out that several Assassin's Creed protagonists from the early days also had "magical" powers, such as Arno's ability to transform himself into a different person in Unity and Evie Frye's invisibility in Syndicate. One user called u/Winter_Hospital4705 takes it a step further, claiming that the series has never been realistic due to the existence of Eagle Vision and the ability for every main character to dive into shallow hay bales from great heights and walk away completely unharmed.

Whichever side you fall on, it's true that this is an optional ability and the game will likely allow you to approach assassinations in whatever way you see fit. We should be savoring Assassin's Creed Mirage while we can, especially since Ubisoft is likely going to go back to the bloated main🧔line games we all hate but play anyway.
