This guy deserves a spot on the list simply virtue of his secretly being a Templar while maintaining his title as head of the Middle East Assassin's guild. He pulled a Palpatine and was a Templar double agent positioned in the top spot of their enemy's guild. He secretly pulled the strings so th🌱at he could bring ultimate power to himself. Al Mualim even managed to trick Altair into taking out specific Templars so he could have the Apple of Eden all to himself. 9 Altair
The only playable to make it on this list. His successful career made him one of the most respected Assassins in history. Altair was not afraid to deny the tenets of his order for what he believed was right. This moral code fueled by a strategic mind allowed him to think rationally while those around him were consumed by power. Altair was instrumental in leading the Assassin's Order, spreading its inf⛄luence across the world and building str🍃ength among the Assassins. He was one of the best mentors in the Assassin's order thanks to his sound and strategic mind.
8 ✃ Shaun Hastings ♎
Shaun Hastings may be one of the most annoying characters in Assassin's Creed. His are always mean natured and prideful. Tꦜhat doesn't make him less intelligent, though. Hasting was a conspiracy buff and he was able to unveil many of history's secrets including its biggest secret - the war between the Assassin's and the Templars. He uncovered this secret war all by himself, which lead to his recruitment into the Assassins. Hastings was one of the few people to be recruited into the order when most of its members are born into it.
7 Rebecca Crane ✃
Rebecca's Crane's technical prowe🎃ss is a step above almost every Assassin in the present day. Her team wa𓄧s tasked with finding the Apple of Eden before Absergo. Her technical support was a big reason for the team's success, as they troubleshot and upgraded the animus. She constantly upgraded the animus to make it more user-friendly.
Desmond's ab𒅌ility to relive ancestral memories was greatly helped thanks to Crane's efforts. She also served as technical support for numerous present-day Assassins. Her technological intellect was instrumental in the fight against the Templars.
6 ❀ Sofia Sartor 🌌
Sofia Sartor was an avid reader and lover of , making her well versed in many subjects. Sartor was smart beyond her years, making her the perfect ally for Ezio Auditore, her future husband, in his search for knowledge. In fact, she was instrumental in Ezio's quest to uncover the Maysaf keys, which were hidden throughout Constantinople. Her love of literature made her smarterꦇ than most people of her time and her resourcefulness helped solve many mysteries throughout the game. She was also not selfish with her intellect and was passionate about sharing knowledge by opening a book store.
5 Piri Reis
This friend of the Assassins' order was an influential help in their fight against the Templars. This was mostly thanks to his talent in constructing a variety of bombs that gave the Assassins an edge in battle. Piri Reis managed to combine ingredients to create explosives, smoke bombs, and distractors. His inventions, which required a strong mind to develop, allowed Assassins to sneak past enemies or take out a group of enemies in an instant. He was also a respected cartographer with the ability to create extremely accurate maps that still live on to the present day.
4 ꧅ Alexander Graham Bell 🌜
Assassin's Creed is known for imagining famous historical figures. In Assassin's Creed Syndicate the Frye twins are in communication with Alexander Graham Bell. This scientist and inventor created many of the for the playable Assassin🍷s in the game. He created a grappling hook that can attach to Assassin gauntlets, developed a formula for smoke bombs, created a dart launcher and-- most impressively-- built voltaic bombs. These bombs allowed the Fryes to unleash a surge of electricity that incapacitated a large group 💙of enemies. He also created the telephone, so there's that.
3 Socrates
Kassandra or Alexios, the two characters in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, run into Socrates many times throughout their journey. Every time he is filled with deep, thoughtful riddles that explore moral dilemmas. These encounters show that Socratis' intellect was beyond his time, o🐓ften having the protagonist ponder intense of the present day.
His conversations, which usually revolved around his asking nonstop questions, involved current topics such as free speech. This shows that Socrates is one of the smartest characters in Assassin's Creed. There are a bare few, though, that𝓰 proved smart𝔍er.
2 Leonardo Da Vinciꦚ
Leonardo Da Vinci is a step above Socrates simply because he starred in multiple games. Da Vinci was a constant and helpful friend to Ezio. He was able to repair an ancient hidden blade and decipher complex codex pages, which were used to upgrade Ezio's killing tools. He also created valuable mechanisms that are commonplace now such as tanks and flying machines. Da Vinci's inventions proved to be beyond his time. His Assassin friendly go beyond anything else in the series making him one of the smartest people in history, at least according to Assassin's Creed.
