168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has proved to be a standout in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Assassin's Creed franchise. It's the perfect blend of realism and Greek mythology that makes it unforgettable. With questlines such as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:hunting down legendary beasts and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:collecting the best armour sets, you're in for a marvellous adventure.
The Mythological Beasts questline lets you encounter famous characters from Greek mythology. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:From Medusa to the Cyclops, you get to battle mythical creatures to test Kassandra or Alexios's mettle. However, there are some legendary Greek mythological beings woefully absent from the game.
10 The Amazons 🏅
Although there's the Tomb of the Amazons in Megaris and you can obtain the Amazon armour set, you don't actually encounter any Amazons in the game. The closest thing to a group of warrior women in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey are the Daughters of Artemis.
The Amazons are a mythical group of warrior maidens in Ancient Greece, known for their courage and prowess in battle. Notable Amazonians include Queen Hippolyte and Penthesilea, who were both defeated by Hercules and Achilles, respectively. It would have been cool to see Kassandra interact with these legendary warrior women since she's one herself.
9 Scyl🐟l🦋a And Charybdis
In the game, Scylla and Charybdis are only mentioned. The game also gives the option to purchase Scylla as the Adrestia's figurehead.
In Greek myth, Scylla and Charybdis are horrific sea monsters and feature prominently in Homer's Odyssey. They live opposite one other in the Strait of Messina,ꦇ with Charybdis described as a violent whirlpool and Scylla as a gigantic woman with sharp teeth and a serpentine tail. Encountering them while navigating the seas on the Adrestia would have been an exhilarating challenge.
8 🍸 Lernaean Hydra
The Cult of Kosmos has a member that named himself 'The Hydra,' a Sage who terrorised the Messenian seas. In addition, you can obtain the Hydra Naval Pack or Hydra-themed greaves for your character.
Defeating the Lernaean Hydra was one of Hercules's Twelve Labours, part of his punishment for murdering his family. The Hydra was described as having poisonous blood and innumerable heads, which grew back tenfold every time one was cut. Hercules managed to end it by using fire. You can visit its lair 𒊎at Learna Swamp in Argolis, albeit without the Hydra.
7 The Fates
The Fates, also known as the Moirai, are three Greek goddesses responsible for overseeing the destinies of all beings. You can find the Burned Temple of Moira in the Underworld dedi🃏cated to the Fates.
Known for sharing one eyeball between the three of them, the Fates consist of three sisters: Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. The latter snips the string and ends a person's life. Clotho spins the thread of life, while Lachesis measures it. A meeting with the Moirai in the game would've made sense and could have been used to foreshadow future events.
6 Sirens
Barnabas was sailing to Samos when he heard an ethereal singing. Apparently, he lost his friend thereafter; whether he actually came across sirens, we can never know. The Sirens are available as a crew skin for the Adrestia, but they don't serve as anything more than that in the game.
Sirens enchant sailors with their beautiful voices, causing shipwrecks and deaths. They're depicted as women with wings and talons, as well as unnaturally large heads. Odysseus's famous encounter with a group of sirens led him to tie himself to his ship's mast and plug his ears with wax to avoid being lured off to his death.
5 Chimera
The Chimera's Breath upgrade is considered one of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the best upgrades for the Adrestia, spewing hot flames toward enemy ships to replicate the mythical beast's ability. But as for the Chimera itself...you don't get to meet one in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.
The child of the gigantic serpent Typhon and Echidna, this freaky fusion of a lion, goat, and snake is a sibling to the Lernaean Hydra and Cerberus. In Homer's Illiad, the fire-breathing Chimera was vanquished by Bellerophon and Pegasus. Perhaps resurrecting the Chimera for a boss battle in the game would've been exciting.
4 Centaurs
According to legend, the centaurs live in the Erymanthos Foothills, since it's where Herakles ran into centaurs in his journey. There's a series of centaur statues in the Forest of Pholos in Elis, all part of a riddle when finding an Ainigmata Ostraka.
This race of half-man, half-horse are said to be the children of Centaurus. Probably the most famous centaur of all is Chiron, who was Achilles's mentor. Chiron was also the sun god Apollo's best pal, encouraging him to pursue his feelings during his lovesick phase for Cyrene the Huntress.
3 Satyrs
In the game, you can obtain satyr-themed decorations for the Adrestia by taking a dive at the Phoibean Lagoon. With horse-like features and the legs and tail of a horse, satyrs are thought to be ugly nature spirits.
Satyrs are well-known for their love of partying, women, and getting absolutely plastered. Naturally, satyrs are companions to the ultimate party-goer of all: Dionysus, the god of wine. They're also seen as pranksters and mischief-makers, targeting mortals in particular.
2 Nymphs
Although it might seem perplexing to see a picture of Kallisto the Bear in this section, there is a good explanation. In Greek mythology, the nymph Kallisto was turned into a ferocious bear by the goddess Hera, who was jealous of Zeus's affections for her.
There are different types of nymphs in Greek myth, such as sea or forest nymphs. Nymphs are considered to be beautiful, young women and are spirits of nature. They're said to mother some of the Olympian gods, like the messenger god Hermes.
1 Python
Gathering dust among the ruins of Snake Temple in Phokis is what's rumoured to be Python's skeleton. In Greek myth, this massive serpent was killed by the sun god Apollo, who installed the Oracle of Delphi in its place.
Born from Gaia, this mythical monster fathered monsters of his own, such as the Chimera and the Hydra. Whether the skeleton is Python or not, this gigantic snake would not look out of﷽ place in the Mythical Creatures questline.
